Quick question for the leaf spring valving guys..
Is it better to have a straight stack of the same thickness or do you guys make it progressive? The first couple times I took my truck out with the dmz kit i believe it was 10/10 and it would handle everything and rarely touched the bumps. It would "stand up" through whoops and never really used the last 2-3" of shock but it was rough through small stuff.
Then I decided to mess with it and put in something like this: 8 8 10 10 12 12 15 on comp and all 8s on rebound, thinking I should use the whole shock for low and high speeds. Its smooth but in big big whoops its soft and wants to buck.

So do you guys mix em up or keep the same thickness? I don't know jack about proper valving so feel free to tell me im doing it all wrong.

i would go back to 10/10 and add a flutter on compression so that it'll work a little softer on small stuff, but im not really a shock guru, just did mine a few times and they seem to work well. iirc, i had all 8's on rebound and compression with one or two flutter stacks and it worked good, mostly because it was so light itd get jostled on little bumps so the flutters helped it sort of bypass the rest of the thicker stack but everything was there when you needed it on bigger bumps

Krish there are a few ideas I have for your truck to make it better. Me and Sick Nick are testing our trucks in Barstow on Jan 18th if you want to roll out. Then we are racing the next weekend

I know, The M.O.R.E. series end of year Banquet is that night. I have to go to that. Plus my work wont me let two weekends in a row off. But I might pull something off and still go to superstition

    Lots of expensive shit
Only if your comparing them to a run of the mill bare bone king sold by downsouth motorsports.

Their LT 8" coilovers use the OEM style sealhead which has a unique triple seal design for long lasting performance in every day conditions. The internals are far nicer than you will ever find in a prerunner series king. The bypass adjusters are way easier. You cant try to judge the shocks on price until you compare the difference in details.

Thoughts on mounting my limit straps off that rear cross tube? Toward the outside near where the tubes meet ?
