Talked to TC. They said there's no problem using a hydraulic bumpstop with their LCA.

Wondering what length I should run? In the factory bump spot

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
Any longer and you will constantly be on the bumps while street driving.

Unless you want to ride your bumps all the time, 2" is perfect. Im sure 2nd gen guys will chime in.

2" bump mounted on or near the frame will bump through much more wheel travel
As in 2" bumpstop does not equal the last 2" of wheel travel are bumped

Makes sense. And I should have it bottom out when the shock bottoms? How easy is it to bottom them out? I don't baja very hard. But if I did. Wondering if I should run rubber bump somewhere too. Or if just the hydraulic is enough to prevent it from bottoming on me.

Thing is, the shock travel will allow the tire to jump up enough, and compress at low speeds, so the tire smashes up into inner fender well. Want to avoid this, in which case I want it to bottom out before the shock does. However I can't have the hydro hitting rock bottom. That'll ruin shit

i heard hydro bumps dont flex very well....maybe rubber bumps are more practical for you?

If you want consistent travel/springrate right up until full bump, dont use hydro's. They will stiffen the last X inches of travel depending on pressure in them, basically limiting flex by starting to bump sooner.
    ...I think
I'd say rubber bumps for slow, hydro for fast.
EDIT: a secondary bypass shock will give you a bump zone for speed hits but allow you to flex it out for crawling without having to compress a stiff hydro bump

Yea..but that might be a 1st gen thing...

    glad it worked out.

this is what id do. Just run rubber bumps and with secondary bypasses use as the higher speed stuff.

i believe jason's rig is setup like that.

I was running Fox 2.0 4" bumpstops which I shortened the stroke on to 2 1/4" bumping of my AP lower arms, worked perfectly. Hydrobumps were in stock location..

That's a change. They have always been adamant about not using hydro bumps with their LCAs. I wonder why they changed their minds. New design, new opinion or?

Also I shortened them to 1 1/4" stroke, not 2 1/4" as previously stated.

At that point aren't they just effectively rubber bumps...? Curiously asking...An inch and a quarter seems to be about what my superbumps probably compress to. Just curious why such a short travel on them?

I mainly crawl in my truck. I wanted the maximum travel I felt comfortable with while keeping the bump out of play. Once on the bump, the truck itself begins to tip rather than just suspension articulating.

I didn't want them in play that much. I felt more comfortable with the 1 1/4" travel...just saying.
