Why does everyone clutter their bed with cages? I like the under bed challenge. Nothing in the bed but a spare. I see some ridiculous things people create with tube and most of it isn't in structurally critical areas.

Not talking shit, I know how much work gets put in to projects like these.Every time I do one I swear I'll never do it again, but that never happens. This is my 97, double cab bed on a extra cab. 24" in the back. 10 up 14 down and absolutely nothing in the bed, the bed unbolts and comes off. 14" shocks with no limiter so they're 15.5" of shaft, mounted 18" forward of the axle. Used a Tundra rear diff. 20140427_180750_zps3f357b33_a3e6f08c61820669880b713ce2d9b1421e3d3729.jpg 20140413_140042_zps650816ee_1c18d8d14048ee80761757b03e6ebf67cf7c2572.jpg

All the tubing adds strength. The stock frame and some shock hoops would not hold up very long on a linked truck being used very hard. Especially in big whoops. Ive seen quite a few well built full backhalfs break.

Relocated middle tubes so they weld into the frame and boxed the frame

looks like its a shock hoop angled toward the rear, and i think the shorter rod ends and placement in the wheel well may be how it doesnt poke through

Weird...I don't remember using two different sizes to torque it down. Guess someone else will chime in. Sorry.

Agreed. 3/4" also fits. I think the nut through the uniball is 7/8" or metric equivelent.
