So far I am about $15k in since October when I pulled the trigger on my LT built. This includes 2.0 SAW bumps on all four corners, Camburg LT with shafts and SAW 2.5 coils, DMZ SUA with Mr.Beefy U-bolt plates, 3.0 SAW bypasses, Glassworks Unlimited fenders, KMC beadlocks, BFG tires, TRD S/C and other little odds and ends. Granted I did pick up the wheels and S/C used and brand new bypasses at a fraction of the price ;)

I am doing all the work myself though so this just parts only.

While all the above you mentioned sounds fun and all if you just plan to be a hooligan for $5-8k this is where I would start. TC LT kit for the front with a coil over and all the gussets (spindle, coil bucket, motor mounts, cam bolts and frame). The rear I would stay with the DMZ kit you looked at or the TC outboard shock mount kit and keep your bed. The bypasses and bumps sound all fun and fast but it's not really necessary to start the build. I ran my front with coil over only for the last 5 years and have logged thousands of off road miles. I'm a believer that a well set up stock with outperform a poorly set up LT any day. Take a look at the TC "Brown Derby". Stock front and rear suspension and that truck rails.

115 on a beach? Is there a speed limit on beaches in Texas? I'm originally from the the east coast and driving like that limited/closed areas to vechicle acess.

And as far as your set up goes definitly do rear first, I have the DMZ kit in the back and mid travel up front. Does pretty good out in the desert but it's still nothing like most of the trucks in this thread. I can comfortably do 60 on the smoother sections but hit a few whoops that were less than 2 foot at about 30 (let off gas and coasted through) and my view was sky/dirt/sky/dirt more than I want to admit...

There is. It's 100 mph slower than that. 115 was done about 20 miles south of civilization. Fishermen rarely venture that far south and it isn't patrolled. It was also done outside of sea turtle season. I took precautions to ensure relative safety of myself and the environment.

I think I might just continue saving to do them both at the same time. I like the idea of maintaining the functionality of my bed

I totally understand. Sorry if I came off the wrong way but it sucks when killer off roading areas get closed. Having seen what happened to the outer banks of NC I know from experiance! As long as your that far out I say have fun! The outer banks issues arose from people driving like idiots around large groups of tourists. Than the environmental groups used bird nests to limit acess. Again didn't mean to come across the wrong way.

Check my build thread, DMZ did a space saver bed cage and I still can get a sheet of plywood in my bed. Hoops are a good option but they will limit your travel some because they require a smaller shock.

Absolutely. Sorry if I sounded annoyed. I wasn't at all. I completely hear you on respecting our off-roading areas. Being from the east coast originally I've wheeled both on the beaches in Maryland and in OBX. I'd never do anything like that on those beaches. Padre Island, TX has 60 miles of beach line for vehicles. Only about 10 miles on each end is used for fishing and camping.

I'll check out your build. Sounds right up my alley.

Wha do ou guys think about stock rubber motor mounts vs solid mount with gusseted purches? It's 4wd so the gussets will be tough...also it's caged so I don't want insane vibrations.

Stick with rubber Cory's solid mounts are nice but the extra vibes will cause things to come loose.
