Ok guys after messing with this three link a bit more I've got the following pinion change

    Bump 3.5* forward
    Ride 1.3* back
    Droop 4* back

That's only 2.7* of change from ride to bump. Is that still too much?

Replacing my spindles (one was bent), tie rods (going back to stock extended in lieu of the heimed steering I had on there), and lower uniballs.

Everything up and until dealing with the uniball has been super smooth since I've worked on all of those parts before.

The misalignment spacers took an air chisel and a torch to get out. The snap ring took a torch, air chisel, two screw drivers, a bloody finger, and a lot of cussing to get out.

And now I don't have a socket big enough to press the new uniball in... going to have to run to Lowes for that tomorrow.

But there was a ton of play in the lower uniball so I'm looking forward to (hopefully) a much tighter ride.

Put your new uniballs in the freezer for a while. Makes install way easier.

What's the point of that? Most people run cantilever kits under the bed to save space. He could have just ran a traditional hoop and shock.

maybe he already had a set of 10s lying around and didnt wanna buy 14 or 16s for hoops. or with a 10 he is yielding similar numbers than with bigger shocks. isnt the ratio like 2-1 for cantilevers opposed to 1 to 1 for hoops?

Ratio varies depending on a lot of factors.

Yea the ratio changes from set up to setup. Depends on shock length, travel numbers, and a few things that are beyond me. Lsk built mine at around 2:1 with a 10" shock and 16" of travel strapped

it's the old frontline fab tacoma. karl built it above the bed for shits and gigs and it's kinda cool to watch the suspension at work. he built the front kit too. that trucks changed owners quite a bit from when it was built. i strongly considered buying it a year or so ago when it was for sale

Yes, yes I do. The passenger side shaft is wanged (got it out of a junkyard, has some runout causing wobble), but other than that it's cherry. Just put a new ECGS third in it, drove it home from where it broke down 150 miles away, and promptly ordered a custom full floater 9.5". I'd sell the whole complete rear with ARP wheel studs for $1000, including SUA perches, or trade for something cool.

Go look in the 2nd gen shit for sale folder, there is a couple dudes selling complete hubs. That's the way to go. I changed my own once, without a press (or even a garage for that matter) and it sucked. I get about 30K out of the uniballs that ship with TC uppers, but the replacements that SDHQ sells seem to last longer. The TC ones seem to wear the "chrome" looking coating off and quickly fail after that.
