I still don't get why people put hiems on the lower arms. Such a weak point.

mid travel up front and deavers in rear henslee motorsports built
it has to have it that's why. what about lower links? is that a weak point also? it doesn't pivot on the same plain that's why it needs it. stock they run a bushing due to the low travel it doesn't need it. when you build it and get more travel you need to have the movement in the hiem to cycle right. granted the best way is to cut off the mount and not have it at a 45 degree angle and make it parallel with the rear mount. that's why the mini taco's suck to build

Needed on the 5-lug. And really, a Heim is much stronger than a bushing load rating wise. Also, more alignment. THe thing with a heim is the mis-aligns needed are what make it complicated. Look at Camburg and a few others that have Uniball as the pivots on the lowers. It's a heim without a shank. Still a spherical bearing.

My jd fab kit uses a heim in that area. It just larger with misalignments. Even the tc taquito kit used heims. My truck is at least 1000lbs lighter too. It works fine for 5 lugs that aren't trying to be race truck or hucking off dunes. A uniball would be better, but my truck has so many more weak points than that heim.

I'm curious how long his lower arm holds up. He is just looking to learn the hard way.

^ Is that the one you guys have been working on since 1987 or so? :D

Just found this. This is why I always do a pre run inspection. If the UCA bolt came out it would suck.

Also found this bull snake. Cute little feller, but angry at the world for some reason.
