Thing weighs a metric shiz ton with all the crap in the bed.

Show boating with a limited slip. Went from soft dry sand to wet packed unloaded the outside tire and caught a rut.

yes they do. You can only have someone tell you that thing must go through alot of mud so many times. Then try explaining to them its 2wd and wait for the blank look. Because of Silver Lake its becoming more common, we are up to more than 20 scattered around.

I was talking more about the front end valving but I'm sure the weight in the bed doesn't help.

How big is the Silver Lake Dune area? I always see the same jump/camera angle.

Silver lake is i believe 400 acres. There are three main spots that you usually setup to jump but all the dunes pretty much look the same.

here are a few vids of us doing laps, gives an idea of the outside loop. Most of the jump spots are in the middle.

Since desert season is, right around the corner, figure I'd put some time into the truck. I need to figure out my rear spring rates before I touch the valving. 2 35"spares, 22 gallon tank behind cab. I'm 250 over 350 I think now and without spares, 2 people in the truck put it close to the bumps.

Thinking about picking up some maxtrac spindles, are any of you guys running 285/70 with spindles or are most people running 35's when pairing lt with a spindle? I want to stay away from going to 35s.

2". I think I'm running a 16" lower spring and an 8" upper spring. I'll know for sure in a few hours.

Cool thanks, just pulled the trigger. Now I just need to get my rear suspension set up and then I can install the spindles

With my MT kit right now with MaxTrac spindles 285s look super small. Once I get my kit installed I'm going to save up for 315s, with fiberglass and spindles you need 35s

You guys would know more than anyone on here I think, could a 14" shock off a second gen work on the rear of a second gen? Assuming I do a bed cage and all to make it fit, would all the valving and what not work?

I'll definently be making new mounts, I was more of wondering if the valving and all would be to stiff for a first gen? I'm getting a decent deal on a set of fox 14s off a second gen

Yeah, like any shock, every truck is different so I wouldn't expect correct valving the first go around. But if it's a good deal snatch em up

$200 for 2 fox 14s sound like a good deal? They are monotube though
