Long Travel BS Thread

    You can always change the valving.

    However if they are OEM style replacement 2nd gen shocks then the top mount is a spindle mount. Not very ideal for making a mount and not going to fit without a bed cage.

    If they are standard mounts be easy to fit them

    I've actually been looking at what slodghetto did with his 14s, but think I've decided just to get new ones instead. I don't think 200 is that good of a deal and I'm not sure what I'm getting.

    speaking of valving, anyone know a good starting point for 1st gen sua setup with 16s ??

    Yea that's nice for crawling. And if it's a spindle top mount you'd be screwed for that setup anyways

    theyre like a single tube bypass basically a smoothie with f67s one 33" spare extra cab with not much extra weight

    Single tube so the Link Killer bypasses from Giant?

    I'd start with .010 comp, tube half closed, .008 rebound.

    theyre from ADS just the reservoirs take in oil at the bottom of the shock rather than the top

    Huh? Most reservoirs are at the bottom of bypass shocks.
    As long as you have an actual bypass tube (not talking about the resi) I would start with .010 on comp. If it's just a smoothbody with a resi then throw a flutter in it.

    My rears now are f12/10 I do have alot of extra weight. 2 full size spares and a fuel cell and the bedcage. They have compression adjusters on em too
    Also bought them used

    I ran 450/550 14" coils, don't remember how much pre-load. I had 2 33" spares, 28 fuel cell behind the axle, and a 60" high lift. I liked the spring rates kept it feeling light on it's feet. I ran 350/450 and I just didn't like it, felt like I was dragging ass and hitting bumps all the time.

    That sounds close to what I need. I might go down in length for the top spring, and up in length for the bottom.

    I ran 350/500 on my race truck and it was just about perfect. Could do 85 down upper Barstow main and you could launch it to the moon too.
