Do you guys know which high misalignment spacers I need for heimed UCAs?

Tarantula wash and Gas Domes was so badly washed out 2 weeks ago that I completely lost the trail a few times and had to backtrack and really look hard for it to get back on. Embarrassing when you're leading 6 trucks Lol but my excuse is that it was night time and my roof LED bar was acting up.

 

Question, picking up that Camburg LT kit this week, if i decide I want heimed uppers in the future, do I need to buy an entirely new kit or can i just buy heimed uppers special order from Camburg? I'm aware the non heimed ones can't be converted. Just curious is anyone's done that or not.

 

Well, A) I am in need of some new paperweights for my new desk that I will be putting in my new house (closing on Tuesday), and B) I have alignment issues

Mostly just flat camber tabs, gonna have BAMF burn in the TC tab gussets here pretty soon, hoping that fixes it.

Honestly u should solid mount the lowers and ditch the cams then do heimed uppers. That's how I have had my long travel set up for 2 years and it's been so nice never having to worry about alignment. Do it once and it stays there

Edit: not to mention that's a brand new kit, I've never dealt with camburg but I hear there cool, ask the guy ur buying from for the receipt and u should try contacting camburg to see if they'll let yah upgrade to the heimed uppers and send the ones u got back, might save yah a little and then u won't have a brand new set of Ucas lying around

 

Good Call Jordan, Thanks for the good advice! I'll see about doing that! Couldn't pass up on the price for this kit, but did have some trepidation about non-heimed uppers, but figured I could deal with that later.

 

It's an easy upgrade all u do is add weld washers in place of the cams then just a regular bolt takes the place of the the cam adjusters and you use ur heimed uppers to adjust the alignment and since everything's solid mounted it stays like that unless u actually adjust it. Congrats on the kit you practically stole that thing for what he was asking!

 

Haha yea, I saw it and jumped on it, he's throwing in the secondary mounts as well!

I bought "Martha" a gently used pair of King Race 3.0"x16" triple bypasses. She is getting closer to being ready for her maiden voyage. Just brakes, wire lights, CV axles, and get registered.

 

I'm feeling an Ocotillo run soon now that the weather has cooled down a bit!

 

Are you sure they can't be converted? I talked with Carlos at Camburg two weeks ago about buying all the parts to converting them myself on my kit.

 

As long as both tubes for the upper hit the bushing tube dead on in the middle and a 90° then they can be converted to hiems.

 

But wouldn't that require grinding off the gusseting and cutting off the bushing end and threading the hole...I don't really have a shop to do it myself, and paying someone to do it would probably equate to just paying camburg the upgrade fee to heims if they'll accept the trade in. If not, then I rock the the kit as is for a year or two, save up for a race kit and then sell mine
