I am wanting to relocate my battery to the bed but I have my spare as close to the cab as possible flat on the bed, I was thinking maybe fabricating something to mount it under the bed. My question is what is the smallest battery that's safe to run on our trucks. I have a red top right now and was looking for something smaller.

Seriously though, check out their 16 cell batt. That's about as small as you would want to run.

That's not bad at all, it says that it's for motorcycles or engines up to 3500cc. Have you used their batteries before? Might have to pick one up and see how it does on the truck.

    Shock shaft protection?

is there and product out there like the plastic fork protectors on a motocross bike for a normal shock? My shock shafts are in the direct line of fire from rocks off the front wheels. I have no idea if its just because I have FOA shock, but the shafts are taking a beating and may have already ruined a main seal due to a bur from a rock hit. Ive sanded out three burs so far that were pretty severe.

All I know of are the rubber boots. I'll run those if I cant find anything better, but the kind or rock that will nick a shaft wont be slowed down much by one of these.

thanks for any info or experience you guys might have.

The boots work great and they make them for 2.0 and 2.5 shocks. My brother has been running them for 5+ years and the shocks look great

If you skip ahead in the video they start a 4.0 tacoma several times with the micro. I don't have one but it's on my christmas list. It would be nice for camping and expedition type stuff. I end up in places it would take days to walk out of...would be nice piece of mind at least. I picked up one of their bigger batteries at a motorcycle shop and was shocked at how light they are. I know a lot of guys running them in bikes. Weight loss=horsepower. ;)

Would it be possible to fit a 3rd seat back there? Or is the 2nd gen not quite wide enough?

A local guy Kyle. He's not on the forums.

There's no way to fit 3 buckets. Even with a bench it would have to be a small person or kid because it would be tight.
