I know Solomotorsports uses a machine shop not too far from them which customizes the stock Tacoma racks with custom seals/parts and has had great success (longevity wise). They also do Tundra rack swaps.

Same, it's gunna be next to impossible without relocating the rack

I will, we're staying out in Primm

No you can't, spectators moving around wreaked havoc on some teams like ourselves shuttling parts between pits so you will be restricted to your area for the duration of the race

I'd like to hear more, maybe I'll give Bobby a call today

    Cliff,
According to Killian you as a pedestrian can move from location to location via the free shuttles they are providing but you can't move your vehicle in and out. Honestly I don't think Mad Media or BITD care about the traffic that much, they just care about the space.

You can only fit so many vehicles in to each spectator area so the passes entitle you to park your vehicle in whichever area you choose. But you should be able to hop on the shuttle however often those are going to run and get to the other areas if you want.

People can also not pay to park at all and park at the Gold Strike and ride the shuttle in from there.

Good to hear they're at least providing shuttles. We got fucked hard last year due to the traffic trying to get parts from main to midway. What should have taken us 20 minutes took over 2 hours and dropped us completely out of contention

I don't post on here often but I want to say... That above is HUGE!!! On Jprich's gen 1 tacoma with MCM's race kit. We run a specific wheel with the offset to give us a very good scrub radius just for that reason. Engine off so no power steering involved it takes very little effort to turn the steering wheel on his truck. Matt did an excellent job on the geometry of his kit and it shows! Jprich's truck is still on the orginal stock rack with no issues ever and driving it, there's very little feed back thru the steering because the leverage on the wheels when hitting rocks or sharp ledges on just a single tire isn't trying to rotate the spindle with the tire sticking way out past it's natural pivot point.

I think a lot of people really under estimate the importance and advantage of having a minimal scrub radius. I know the wheels on Jprich's truck were not his first choice when it comes to cosmetics but function wise they were absolutely the best we could find when it came to wanting to stick with a 15" wheel (wanted to take advantage of the sidewall flex/suspension on a limited suspension truck) and the offset we wanted to keep the scrub radius virtually perfect.

Another built in advantage to Matt's MCM race kit and the exact offset wheels on Jprich's truck, it's keeping the wheels sucked in and centered around the wheel bearings which in theory should also minimize the load on the bearings. A deeper wheel kicking the tire out further and increasing the track width would not only kill the scrub radius but it also would put more load on his wheel bearings.

Sorry, probably a bunch of techy info most dgaf about but just wanted to elaborate on that very simple comment DTF mentioned quoted above.

I need some thoughts on putting custom Deavers or Alcans in the back of my truck. Current setup is D60 front, 14 bolt rear, 14" coilovers up front with 6" of chrome showing and 63" Chevy rear springs with about 4-5" of suspension lift overall. I want to get the rear suspension up to snuff and am entertaining the idea of doing leafs for simplicity and cost sake. Custom Deavers and 2.5" smooth body Fox's would be cheaper than all the necessary link components and still do the job just fine, I would think. Question, would the spring arch be too much to gain that much lift going spring under and still have it handle well? Spring over is an option but I would still like to control axle wrap somehow since its worse with spring over hence why I was considering going spring under. Benefits to coilovers, tunability, ground clearance (important for crawling). Benefits to leafs, simple to setup, cost.

a small percentage of us genuinely care about small things like this that improve performance over appearance. Not many of us are going to want to run a tighter offset rim to minimize the scrub despite the fact that it is proven to be more efficient. The good thing is as long as everybody else keeps building their suspensions wider and wider not taking into consideration scrub and KPI, they will be no shortage of work for us small potatoes kind of guys lol.

So just talked to Bobby at solo. they do have a guy that will beef up the factory rack like you said but he talked me into throwing a late model tundra rack with larger cooler and proam res in mine since I've gone through so many. Needless to say my truck will be at solo this summer for some work

Can anyone help me out locating the heim spacers for Camburg's long travel upper control arms? I made the mistake of ordering bushing uppers rather than heimed so I'm in the process of converting mine to heims but can't seem to be able to order the spacers. Gave Camburg a call and they told me to call Kartek and Kartek told me to call Camburg so yeah... I can order everything from Kartek but the spacers since I don't have any information on them aside being for a M14 bolt.
