thats what i was considering doing, just throwing a second gen tundra rack then get something from PSC.

but i also have on my stock rack 130k miles, 30-40k of which have been on long travel and not a drop of fluid on the boots or anything has leaked out so might just milk mine while i can

Yeah, we're definitely running some shallow wheels!!!

    IMAG0713_zpseywtup48_37472aee3f7df7d538dec798400e290a87f5951e.jpg

And I completely agree with what you're saying above! These days it really is about stance and looks. Gotta sit LOW and WIDE. Funny about the steady incoming work load cause of it!

Funny thing is Jprich's truck does sit pretty wide still. It wouldn't fit on my trailer if we ran some of the wheels I've seen others run. In fact, I'd have to double check but I think it's within an inch on track width of my F150! But... It's a dedicated race truck, not exactly built how a play truck would probably be.

    11025277_10152870015582798_4200301742450_d3aeb0c3f0da15e1d6f690e4bc5b3070b1a04c44.jpg

I don't have the pictures I need to show this cause I just sent them to Jprich but didn't save them myself. But when I was swapping in the new rear end I was stressing that either I measured wrong or camburg screwed up on the width cause it looked WAY wide compared to the front. In the end, it's PERFECT. This one doesn't give the effect I was having though and at the time didn't know Jprich was also stressing a bit on the width from the photos I'd been sending during the swap. With the old rear end, the tires tucked inside the fenders. LOL Yes, I've remounted the fenders.

I've had a few people ask why my F150 sits so high already and I usually say it's cause I like my bump travel! I guess it doesn't pass the cool dude's stance test but I can only imagine if my cab wasn't physically sitting on the frame rails! LOL I'd be driving a monster truck... It's cool though, I'm pretty stoked with how mine works after only 3 runs with it and that's all that matters IMO!

Thanks guys, Barstow track was super fun this weekend. Glad you made it out Matt!!. You guys are always welcome to join us at any desert race.

Wish I was doing the Mint 400. But the new 7100 class rules does not allow J-arms :(. Even though I only have 13 inches of travel and using lower stock points with a 4cyl.

Looks like a typical east county ride, Zero work in back done and over the top up front long travel with a huge lift.

When I lived out there in the late 90s and early 2000's i would see that on ranger, explorers and some toyotas all the time.

Usually a crooked flat billed hat and soul patch 17 year old looking driving it blasting rap.

I like the interior though :)

The entry limit has already been reached but I would be willing to bet had you chimed in on the thread on RDC where we're all chatting that everyone in the class would've agreed to let you slide for the extra entry into the class. While yes, they wrote the rules with J-arms, as illegal I don't think anyone would say your truck is outside of what the class is about with that info. Bummer!!! Would've been cool to have more then just the 5 of us, even just one more would've been cool!

LOL, I grew up in PQ, lived there till '95. Ramona from '95-'97 and '00-01, then Santee from '01-'05. I 100% know what you're talking about! My explorer back then was only 2" over per side and sat pretty level with no fiberglass. It worked REALLY well though cause I actually had Shane from Bilstein helping me valve the crap out of my shocks back then. I'd go to Ocotillo running around with 2 or 3 friends in it, 4wd, coil buckets up front with a smooth body and a bumpstop, deavers, smoothies bumps in the rear and walk past kids with coilovers and cages and ultra wide front ends. The look when they pull up and realize I don't even have coilovers up front was always amusing!

You're lucky, I'm on my 4th or 5th stock rack, I've cracked 2 completely in half and my current one is pissing fluid. I threw some Lucas power steering stop in and that helped but now instead of pissing fluid it's oozing gel haha

Are your racks outright failing or do they gradually get worse as far as play and leaking?

I'm on my third first gen tundra rack, broke the first one completely, second one started pissing fluid, third one I decided to run a slight mix of lucas ps stop leak in the fluid and pack the arms with grease (new one came with grease under the boots, figured why not).
Its holding up fine for $150 from the junkyard, is re manufactured, and my heims are pretty loose until i can make new tie rods next weekend, so its definitely taking a beating. Hopefully its the last rack I have to buy until I make a slider, but they are definitely a huge weak point in our trucks.
Wish i could see how hot the fluid is getting, maybe a cooler would help? Or maybe its just a combo of dirt in the seals and sideways forces on the arms from bad scrub or bump steer? Maybe poor alignment?
    God damn racks.

Part of it is just the location of the rack. Rack on the rear and it takes a beating. Second gen taco's have the advantage with the rack up front. Do that rack slider

That would be awesome! Last year a random guy stopped to check out my truck and gave me a pits area pass!

I'm new at this so what is the advantage of having a tundra rack instead of a tacoma one?
