That was built when they had a supercharged truck in the shop making sure there was room for the charger when I add it in the future.

I've got that one thing, and that other one thing, oh yeah and that other other one thing.
So uh, do you need my address for that axle?

If you guys had the choice between the Ford 9" or the Tundra 10.5", which would you pick? Only reason I ask is because there are a few trucks at the local (and only) junkyard and they have complete axles. People who work there aren't out to make money on them either so figure could pick either for fairly cheap.

A 9" is going to be stronger even though the 10.5" is a larger ring gear due to the design. A 9" has an extra pinion gear support bearing that keeps the gears from deflecting away from each other

I like the tundra because its toyota. Brake lines match up, wheel speed sensors fit, its a 10.5" diff, ruffstuff makes a ballin housing for it, think its a 36spline and the axle shaft its self is super beefy, gear ratios same as the tacoma, and its wide as fuck. All u need to install one is the wheel adapters, and a drill to drill out the pinion flange. Downside is the cost but i think the easy install makes up for it

So the 9" is stronger, but the 10.5" is more user friendly. Guess that goes down to which I can find more of, probably going to be the 9"

    Damn that's wide

I'm sure the 10.5 would be plenty strong tho, our trucks are way lighter than the tundys and have much less power

Very true, although I do have a tendency of breaking things that shouldn't have been broken. But hey! It'll give me an excuse to get a better housing if that happens LOL.

Onto the hunt....:spy: I'll PM you if/when I find one, probably will have a lot of questions.

Look at the cost. You can find 9" complete for 3-500$ all day. Replacement parts are way less expensive as well.

Still need to add the cost of a housing for you 9'' and all the related costs that go with them to match the width of your LT front

    ...too much shit to list.
Junkyard housing's all day long. Econoline and F series trucks are easy pickings and are plenty wide. IIRC the econoline is 69" wms-wms

Realistically, that's probably the route I'll go. Parts are a plenty (Not here, but my in laws would be willing to go to swap meets or junk yards for me), and plenty cheap.

Time to learn to weld. Trying to keep cost down lol.

Im running a 68" econoline housing, semifloater, currie sportsman 3rd member and 5 on 5.5. I'm into it about 1200$ including gears and spool. Not bad at all

An makes sense now. Was wondering what engine that was, and figured it must have been the old 3.0 v6 in the older trucks.
