Yep I used an older one of those. Think it was the 2400. Doesn't compress just the coils uses the top hat to push down. Still nice and works. Id love on in my own shop. So pricey though

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
So going to be getting a new bumper from Lsk in the next few weeks. Looks like they have built them with frame horns and without. What's the advantage to just using tubing, anything? Also have read some prefer standard tuning so the bumper bends in a accident vs the frame and others like DOM. Have been leaning towards DOM but thought I'd ask for opinions first.
    Thanks

Sorry for the delayed response, been busy with being awesome lol.

Just got a ticket in April for literally the same thing, but it was my rear rigid brake light bar that they popped me for. If it's marked correctable, why not get it signed off and just pay the $25 fee? For where I'm at, I could either pay online or drop a check at a courhouse, no need to actually go to court. Or have you tried that already?

PM me if you'd like, I have a few connections...

In addition to the front bumper question I want to finally replace the high lift with a skid for a harbor freight or similar jack. I know DMZ makes one but anyone else I should check out?
Also need to find a decent full sized spare tire solution till I decide what to do with the rear bumper. Was thinking about a Y strap but not sure if I would need to reinforce it under the bed? Any other low price options for the spare?

I found the C4 fabworks the other day. That's the one I'm going to go with. Stewart's makes one too, overpriced though!

Honestly, for a street truck it doesn't matter. Mild, dom, chromo, it's all the same. A simple tube bumper that's only tied into a couple places won't matter much when it comes to material. I'd save some cash and go mild.

Trucks not a daily driver but will be used mostly down in Mexico. After reading all the complaints about toyotas frames I'm really afraid a hard nose first hit might bend something. Was thinking it would be cheaper to replace the bumper then straighten the frame. Seam to have read lots of people here have bent their frame and can't align it. Im getting LSK to tie the shock towers together to stiffen them up a bit. Was thinking about getting a engine cage but decided to spend the $ on the bronco build. Thanks for the advice, really just want the Tacoma for a reliable LT truck for Baja trips and checking out a few races.

Trac, did you guys ever put together a 4-link kit utilizing the stock Toyota axle? Something similar to what Engage was offering?

If you or a buddy has the ability, I'd say just take the wheels off the jack and weld an aluminum plate to it. Mine took less than 30 mins to cut and bend, and I used a piece of 1/4" aluminum scrap (free). Anything over $50 seems expensive for a jack skid plate, IMO.

I have my 35" spare strapped in bed with a Y-strap for now...haven't had any issues, and the strap was like $60.

Looks good, did you reinforce the bed where the bottom of the Y attaches?

Kind of, yes. I bolted a small D-ring through the bed, with a 1/4" aluminum plate (3"x3") on the underside for the bolts to go through. It's plenty solid. Then of course the other ends of the strap are just hooked on the factory d-rings at the back.
