MY OH MY DO I HAVE NEWS!

Ok so I called Nitro. They do make a heat treated (20% stronger than stock) rear axle shaft for the 05+ tacomas, you just have to cut it to length. They redirect me to their main distributor "Just Differentials" Guess where they're located? Cashmere, WA! Only 1 hour away from me. They do all sorts of diff work and they even regeared the TRD pro vehicles from Toyota that raced in the Baja! Like what?? They also say that ECGS buys all of their gears from them. All this time they've been an hour away from me! Anyways that's exciting and I'm getting a brand new axle shaft tonight for only $185. One of our install crews is working in that town and picking it up for me :yay:

For reals though? Why not just convert it to 4x4? We know you're gonna end up LT'ing the next 4x4 you get lol. 5k now vs 20k+ on a new truck...

Cost me around $3500 to convert mine over. Took a few months searching for good deals on everything. Selling your uprights will help pay for some of it.

I thought about selling mine before converting, but knew I would spending even more money building the next one than just making mine work for everything.

For the 2nd gen guys. I know a guy that is interested in doing this. He's running 35's. Would he still have clearance issues?
"I would love to run a 3.5 LT kit but I don't want to run glass right now.. What are you guys thoughts on running it with clearanced fenders and relocated cab mounts"?

All I know is on a +2 kit with 35s you need to remove 4" and you will still rub the inner top of the fender...

I'm assuming 3.5 will be worse.

Quick question for second gen 4x4 lt. Just got some new to me front bypasses and they have the regular rod ends. Do I need to get extended rod ends just like the coilovers or will short ones work? I am planning on making my own bypass mounts so I could compensate there but not sure if the bypass tubes will hit the axles.

    Yes
Are you referring to secondary bypasses ? If so you should not have any axle clearance issues because the bypasses will mount to the far rear edge ( toward the cab ) of your LCA. All of your axle clearance issues are with the CO that is right on top of the axle.

Awesome, I just wasn't too sure. I know the shafts is closer to the c/o but with the bypass tubes I thought it might cut it close with normal rod ends.
