im pretty sure its metal, its just a piece that sits on the outside to soak up most of the heat from the exhaust so it doesnt melt the fiberglass. i actually talked to my cousin(member name crunkjuice!) and he said he had to buy a fuel kit or something like that but i remember he didnt put it on and it melted the fiberglass so he had to get a bigger metal piece so hopefully he finds the old one

My allen screw was stuck on my DR, I ended up getting a stripped thread removing tool and took it out that way.

Just make it your self. get some sheet metal and an angle grinder. Or try a boating store.

I rather get a piece of sheet metal and take it a grinder to it.

How much travel would you get out of TC uppers and lowers with extended coilovers?

Edit: OE replacement not the LT setup.

prob around 10.5"... give or take .5"

the main benifits from the stock length lowers is the lower uniball and poly bushings along with the fabbed arm

Yea my bushings and ball joint is shot and want a uniball replacement. Im not sure if i want to long travel. Im still contemplating. I would have to strap it either way im thinking. Im breaking cvs with my current setup. As long as im bumped and strapped at all for corners with possible bypasses would it have similar ride quality to a 3.5" over kit?

ride quality is all about your shock valving and spring rates. travel numbers basically equate to how fast you can go over the gnarly stuff with out bottoming out the suspension. :D

def strap your front end, because right now when you full droop the coils all the force is being held by the bolts in the coil bucket. enough abuse and the bucket will tear appart.

the TC stock arms are cool, but super expensive, but do allow you to build a sweet suspension and not have wide track width

the napa ball joint looks like a quality alternative . the stock balljoint design is pretty stout . just needs a little more misalignment. it tops out at 50 degrees of total misalignment and typical 1" uniball setups max out around 60-65 degrees!

the tc stock length arms put the arm a lot lower to the ground and are super pricey . the bumpstop relocation to add a extra shock looks a little funky to me too. i like the idea , but i feel it can be improved upon. i just like the idea of adding an extra shock because the front end needs it. i was thinking a custom smoothbody king with a bumpzone would be perfect for the front end

im working on replaceable bushing inserts for the 05^ tacomas. gonna do one with squeekey polyurethane and a set with delrin. i will only recommend the delrin ones if your gonna get rid or your alignment cams and use heimed uppers, but they wil pivot very smooth and last a lot longer. everything is drawn up and if theres enough interest i will take preorders and get on them asap.
