It's really only 10 min per side extra if he wants to install the axle shafts later. Not a big deal. I installed my kit and drove on it while waiting for my axles to show up.

When I do it, I want to do it one time, and right the first time. The less I mess with shit the more time i have to do other things. Just my thinking. I'm still making sure I have everything after 3 or 4 months of collecting parts.

yea sure. But a little as you go means..full front lt kit...then gussets..then secondaries..then engine cage..oh and before all of that...rear LT..

I can't see how buying the kit and waiting like a month to afford axles is going to kill you.

Do it right. Or don't do it at all. Period.

    Especially in the LT game.

Man you guys are hardcore lol. It's really not a big deal. He will be able to go over the whole kit when the axles go in and make sure everything is tight anyway.

Leakage, loss of power steering, excessively loose steering.

Put the front end on jackstands, grab tires, and shake. Chase play down to its source. That's pretty much the dance of our people for LT trucks.

Loss of power steering and well just snapping them in half have been the most common for me.

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
It kinda is but most speak from experiance. Trust me if your not willing to spend 4X what you think it's better to just go LT rear and MT front. After installing my front kit I quickly found out I will need to keep funding my LT savings account to keep it dirt ready. LT just adds stress to any factory parts.

I feel you dude, but I'm aware it is a money pit.. There is a ton of info on LT on here and I've been reading up and lurking this thread/other sites for a long time. Just couldn't find much info on the axels and had to ask some people who probably knew, wasn't asking if I should or shouldn't get LT...

Why we are so hard on people on this thread is most people start out with a nice new truck to build and think a few bolt on parts will make for a fast reliable long travel truck... That could not be farther from the truth. If you a want fun, fast and reliable truck start with a very cheap chassis with a reliable motor and put the rest of your money into parts and fabrication. Once you finish a build there will be so little left of the truck you paid top dollar for its depressing. I know this from experience too many times.

Word man, but I'm not looking to bolt on a few parts and go huck my 25K dollar truck. Just slowly build till its paid off and I can DD a diesel to tow it around. I get it, it's the Internet, but it would be cool if people could just ask a question about axel shafts and get a straight answer instead of a bunch of people's opinions.
