I would beat it into submission, as close to normal as you can get it, and then just weld it up.

You guys think 55" trailing arms would be a good length for a 2nd gen access cab? Looking at Ruff Stuff's right now.

Late to the game but a few pages back someone mentioned they needed taller stands. I know these won't apply to most but those of you with a fully caged/bumpers tied into the chassis truck... I bought 4 of these a few months back and I'm kicking myself for not buying them years ago! Adjustable from 28"-53" and solid enough to support the trucks weight. I now use my engine hoist, grab the bumper, lift the truck up, slide these under the bumper and set it back down with the suspension at full droop. Front and rear bumpers support the weight of the truck and it gives me clear access not having to work around jack stands under the truck. I love these things and they're one of the best recent additions to my garage for a few hundred bucks total. Like I said, they won't work for all cause your truck needs to be built enough to support itself and lift by the bumpers but if you're there, I don't think you'll regret the purchase. I guess the engine hoist is kinda key too though honestly...

Yes you could make a set but for the price, I didn't bother...

The links I make are 55 inches, works for a extra cab, and a double cab short bed.

Those stands are nice! I bought a set of 12 ton jack stands at harbor freight that have plenty of height adjustment also. I also have 6 ton ones from harbor freight that just barely get the job done.

Not gonna lie I did use some 3 tons when they were all I had with some blocks of wood, 0/10 would not recommend ever

I don't remember the tonnage but I've got 3 pairs of jack stands from harbor frieght in 3 different sizes from large to small and that's what I've used for literally a decade now and then about 2-3 months ago I got those stands I linked above and well, crap!!! So much regret not having them ages ago! It's nice cause I can have the truck a bit higher off the ground for room to work under. I can actually sit up underneath it depending what I'm working and where I'm sitting under the truck. That and while the jack stands under the truck really aren't that much in the way when working... You don't realize how nice it is until you don't have them there. The stands are far from a necessity as we all get by with regular ones but they are a nice garage luxury if they're in your budget and you're setup to take advantage of them.

I'd wanted a set forever and finally pulled the trigger on 4 of them and have zero regret on the purchase!

Here relatively soon I'm going to be starting the restoration of my '67 mustang and I've already been scheming how I can lift it high enough to get these under it and hold it 2-3 feet in the air for the underneath portions of the project! LOL

have you guys seen these? pretty rad, much cleaner than the standard little weld on tabs. they will do a 2.5 or 3.0 reservoir.

My doors are the only stock things left besides the headlights
Looks bulky, the standard tabs are pretty minimalist and clean looking personally

i like those^ mine are a little different, got some flat plate about 2" wide and drilled 2 holes and bolted it to the frame and then welded the little tabs on it, redoing my towers cause they rub like a mother now with the bypasses.

The little tabs are $3, are those really needed? Seem a little over beefy

pretty easy when they put specs directly on their website, so much for originality I guess

I mean, it's not exactly a hard design to create on your own. Make the letter "M" in solid works and extrude by a couple inches. Magic!

very similar, but not the same. you should know being in the industry that everything resembles something else. that would be like saying that camburg/icon copied TC tube arms..
or that everyone copied dirt techs housings or trailing arms that they posted the specs for 9+ year ago before anyone else was building housings and or box style trailing arms..
    http://www.dirt-tech.com/tp_trailing_arms.html

im sure camburg was not the first to make these and dirt king will not be the last.

its just another option that may suite someone's build style rather than the standard weld on tab. the camburg ones are cool too, I personally like this style over the little tabs.

The more I have been looking I am now debating between a +2 or a +3.5 for when I make the decision. Is the 3.5 more maintenance intensive and is it more meant for a dedicated off roading vehicle than a daily driver? Or are they pretty similar? Hopefully you guys can give me some advice.

allpro long travel, shackle flip with ome dakars, cruisin offroad bumpers and sliders, 4.88 gears with arb's front and rear, budbuilt skids.
One is 1.5'' wider per side then the other. That's the only difference.
