6", mine are so beast.......love them. Plus superior tire coverage.

 

I'm on 5.29s and 35s. Yea 75mph isnt really a thing my truck loves, but I never ever have to down shift on hills.

And the low end torque is soooooo worth it. Over geared is super fun.

 

I love my 4.88s, my truck doesnt have the suspension to go over 80 in the dirt so there is no need for the truck to have the gearing for it.

 

6.0s in my truck, I've hit 118 on gps and it had a little more, but I definitely wouldn't recommend it on a DD haha

Hey guys, do I need a new snap ring or is this normal?

 

Anybody have any input? Got the new boots on and I'm ready to wrap this up...

 

Automatic or manual? Hows 80 on the highway?

 

All the axles I have done have had a little bit of play in the tripod. So I'm going to say that's normal.

 

Auto and I'm at about 3000 RPM. Burns up gas pretty good. I just cruise at 65 and it's all good.

Ugh, see that right there tells me to go with 4.56. Stick shift and 4.56 would put me right about where I'm at now, power wise. I'm ok with that. So i won't be able to do super rooster tails from a dead stop....wait...yes I can lol. Joking aside, I will be DD'ing the truck for a bit, since I'm to pussy to ride the bike in when it's cold lol, so I'd like to be able to punch it a bit on the highway and not be redlining lol

 

It's going to be a supercharged LT truck on 35s. If you care about practicality, you took a wrong turn somewhere along the line. Your truck will not be a good DD for long.

12 vs 13.5 MPG doesn't matter at that point and the engine noise difference is going to be minimal.

 

He's has more then enough power to turn 35's in the dirt with 4.56's so why go for a weaker 4.88 gearset.

 

True, but cruising at 3k+ RPMS for 10 hours on my trips to SoCal won't help the life the engine much lol. It's already shortened as it is....I dunno. I'm gonna build it first, maybe take a ride with someone on 35s and 4.56 and see how I like it.

 

4.56 are fine at the end of the day it's not a race truck. I try to find the best of both worlds so I can still drive my truck long distance if I want too

Yea I'm leaning strongly towards 4.56. If it was a dedicated offroad truck, id consider 4.88. But since I will be DDing it, 4.56 sounds like the perfect match for me. Stronger gears, plus stock power, which with a Supercharger, I should be fine.,
