    Did anyone else have to cut down their tie rod extensions? Looks like I'm going to have to cut down the threads coming off the inner too... Seems like a cutout wheel is gonna ruin the threads...
    This is right after I cut it down. Haven't touched the lock nut

    Funny story. I'm a dumbass. Didn't need to cut down the threads (AND I DIDNT). I was just screwing it on by hand and it would stop once it got the threads that hadn't been touched yet, it wasn't bottoming out. Now I should be able to get an allignment.

    Ah cool, glad you didn't chop anything. BTW If you ever plan on getting those spindle bolts back off again with a torch don't use red loctite, blue and proper torque spec will do the job.

    Yeah, I chopped the extensions but not the tie rod itself!
    Yeah I was gonna just do a little bit of blue and proper torque spec. My stupid jeeper best friend always gives me crap about torquing stuff to spec and said "80 is like insanely tight! Do that!" :rolleyes:

    4.88s aren't weaker. Why do people keep saying that. Neither are 5.29s.

    And why are you so worried about going 80mph on the hwy? Not worth it even now stock.

    The supercharger will not make up the torque of gears. Trust me. I have been part of that thought process and the gears make a much bigger difference.

    Your truck isn't even going to leave the shop for over a month anyways I bet getting all that shit installed. And once it is installed, it will never be a dd again. So before you start cutting and welding shit and outing new parts on. Go out and buy a new dd. You're going to need it.

    And get 4.88s.

    Meh. There are plenty of people DDing LT trucks on 4.56 and 35s. If I want to go 80 on the highway, thats my business. Im fully aware of build times and such, I've got a bike to commute on for that very reason. My mid travel prerunner got shitty gas mileage and didnt have the best road manners, but I still DD'd it. Again, I reiterate that I'm not trying to be race truck offroad, or I'd go with 4.88s. If 4.56 puts me back closest to stock gearing, then that is what I am going to do. Thanks for the help anyways guys, no need to get worked up about it.
