Long Travel BS Thread

I talked to him a few weeks back and he told me the whole kit including the bypasses is sold

 

Navy, depending on his job, has alot more internet access than most branches. If hes in the sandbox deployed, its not much contact IIRC.

 

Just check for smoke signals or carrier pigeons.

 

Oh I saw it on DR and last night he posted he has a pending sale on it. Anyone know of anyone with 8" King bypasses let me know

 

That's about right lol. I remember trying to TW when we were out in the middle of no where...open the page...go have a smoke, come back and Hey! its loaded!

 

I ordered total chaos spring under kit for my truck and can't find out what shock size I need to get. The guy at tc had no idea and told me to call a shock company, so I did and they had no idea. Does anyone know what size shock? The kit says it will make a max of 12" of travel. Also because there are no fab shops even close to me. Does anyone have an idea of how to mount this kit?

 

spring under kit that only gets 12 inches of travel? something seems wrong there.

That kit was made to run extended travel replacement shocks. It was designed for a better alternative (more up travel) then the stock replacement deavers. They have it on Matt (owner of Tc) brown tacoma and works really well with mid travel without having to do a full bed cage

 

That's what I'm thinking now. I didn't look at the ad before I bought it. I called tc to ask about a kit and they said they had this in stock. Now it's shipped already. Dam, I thought it was a long travel kit when I ordered it. That's what the guy I talked to made it seem like. Well should I be better off trying to send them back when they get here to get a long travel kit?

 

I would go with the DMZ kit, about the same price...but any rear long travel kit is going to require welding. Technically it is an LT kit, just not very much travel, but a good starting point I guess if you just wanted a little extra flex and Spring Under. You could run the DMZ kit with some 12" or 14" shocks tucked in the wheel well

 

I thought this was like the dmz kit. I talked to tim at dmz and said he is working on a kit that he could sell and ship. He said his would be over $2000 so I thought I was saving some money. I guess I'll run this for awhile since it's on it's way and buy the dmz kit in the future. What size icon shock would work with this kit to make the 12"?

 

Well I think you can run an 11" shock in the stock location right? @ckeene9

 

Youre better off doing it all at once the way you want it honestly, im sure the price difference isnt much. For what its worth, I shipped a defined kit to another member in Colorado for $50, it was $80 to send to vermont through fastenal. For some reason I thought the tc kit would pull at least close to dmz in travel, im sure the price isnt very different. Just go dmz imo

 

Is it normal for bedsides to spider crack? Mine have them all over and will be some serious body work to get rid of them before I paint

 

Are there Enought mounts? They sound like they are flexing too much

 

There mounted along the top of the bed, rear corner (pic) and in front of the tire with 1" .120 wall tubing. Both lower mounts have fender fasteners on them. They are even spider cracking along the top of them. I can take pics later
