I'm about 2 weeks on a set of KM2 race take offs mounted to my beadlocks. I put 2 shot glasses worth of bb's in each one and they aren't bad at all. Not perfectly glass smooth but far from horrible either. The tires have great tread but some chuncks here and there bit out of them for a rough idea of what the bb's are trying to fight against.

I've heard best way is to mount them, go have them spun on a balance machine, get the total weight the machine says to add and put that amount worth of bb's in the tire. "supposedly" that'll get you a perfect setup...

Man most shops seem to be recommending the beads to me. Been to two where they asked if they should add beads. My dads work great.

I bought dyna beads...used them in two of my beadlocks. Ended up with the wrong size hub bore wheels so when I unmounted and remounted them I skipped it. Wasn't going to risk having to take them apart again, so I just got the $15 lifetime balance at a local tire shop.

While they said they wouldn't touch beadlocks I haven't had issues with just balancing them because they probably think they are faux locks. I watch them like a hawk to make sure they don't try to pop the bead with the tire machine...that'd be bad.

the global map requires an antenna to run and good luck finding one, they have been discontinued for years and you wont find one online. the mapping software is outdated and wont accept a newer SD card.

better off buying a elite 5 baja

Question^ Are all of these race GPS just specifically for Baja, or could I upload maps from local trails or known trails?

absolutely not, we sell a GPS card for so-cal, az and nevada that has 99% of your fire roads and trails you will be on. $60 for the card

all these things are is marine chart plotters that were adopted by race teams due to how rugged they are and the fact that they are water proof and update quickly

Good to know. That seems to be the best way to go about it. I ended up being able to get them spin balanced with weights, they ride glass smooth on the fwy finally! One needed 12 fucking ounces of weights, so I'm kind of glad I didn't go with just guesstimating the bead weight on each of them (they reccomend 7-8 oz on avg). Probably will go with the bb's on the next set of new tires, get them spin balanced then break them back down and fill them up.

They usually hate balancing bead locks and big tires, beads make things a lot easier. Kind of a bitch to pull the rings over and over to spin them then add bb's but it's worth it... I'm pumped on my new wheels.

The bb's go in the wheels for good? Why? Never heard this.

I'm pretty sure it was explained a few pages back but the bb's use centrifugal force to be forced to the lighter spots of the tires, effectively acting as always changing wheel weights while the wheel is in motion.

How else would they work? And why else would people pour bb's in their tires haha

the problem is the satellite reception needed to triangulate the location of the recievers, satellite time is not cheap

same, but i still prefer my lowrance as a primary, i guess its just what im comfortable with. They're really close to having it totally dialed tho. I've had it since theyre beta release so its been cool to watch it progress as far as it has
