There is a guy on here running a tundra 5100 on a 1st gen and getting 11'' of travel damn near. Though ive never measured it myself. And he is just measuring from the top of the fender both compressed and extended.

@Blackdawg I believe you are talking about @Lumpskie , who I messaged about his setup. I wanted to do the same setup, but upon some investigation I couldn't find any Tundra 5100s that had that much longer of an extended length. Maybe he can chime in and tell us how he did it?

    ...too much shit to list.
I can't speak to Bilsteins, but I cycled 9.5 on my old Fox MT setup with TC UCAs. You absolutely can't get any more of that. I removed the coilover completely an re-cycled and the CV's start to bind. Also the OTRE bind bad if you cycle and the wheel is turned.

yea thats who im talking about. So no idea really..I called BS in his build thread when he stated that..but :notsure:

Still, thats not bad. Definelty not worth jumping to a 1.5 or 2'' over kit. Just might as well go with a full kit.

To me, Not worth it to go fiberglass. at least in CO. If I painted glass flares black sand pearl and went on a couple wheeling trips, they would probably end up looking like an off white from being so scratched up. I like the additional travel and strength without going full LT for that 70mph + or whatever.

I wouldnt run glass if I didnt absolutely have to, tacomas look cleaner without glass imo but anything more than +2 kit you just need glass (maybe you need it with a +2 also, idk).

Also theres a build thread on a 3rd gen with total chaos lt on here, not sure if its the same one posted above

I'm not even LT and feel like I need glass. My fenders look like fucking bacon. I couldn't imagine my truck with even a +2 kit.

not true... still need glass with a +2 kit and 35s if you intend to use it at all and not trim your fenders

    ask me how I know...

on a 2nd gen sure. I would run a +2 kit on one that wasn't full on crazy. But on a 1st gen? not really worth it. Considering with a 3.5'' kit on a 1st gen youd still be narrower than a stock 2nd gen. Give or take tire and wheel choice.

not to mention +2 kits are a total waste of time. 3" in additional track width isnt enough to keep you off a trail and isnt worth the 3-4" of travel you will lose. +2 is glorified mid travel

I blew up my fenders on my mid travel set up. I wouldn't run a +anything without.

If you cant fit on a trail with a +3.5 over kit, you probably need to learn how to drive cuz your still not going to fit with a +2 kit and probably not with a stock width truck. Seriously the stupidest argument out there.

So you're saying I should throw ~80 G's into my truck so I can "use it"

I relocated cab mounts, tubbed firewalls, clearanced the shit outta my fenders and I have plenty of fun with my 35s haha. I guess not everyone uses their truck the same. I enjoy just the ability to run moderate to difficult trails with ease
