It really messes with your eyes looking at those links starting under the center of the driver seat and see so much cab behind it.

Can anyone explain where the front link pivot point should be on this FJ? Not talking shit but have no idea myself. Link geometry and setup is like Swahili to me.

There is really no "correct" placement. It's just weird seeing such a long link on a short wheel base vehicle.

There really isn't a specific point they need to be. He is using a 55" link and keeping the stock wheel location. That spot on the lower frame is where the link ends. The longer link is going to help his straight line stability, but he still has a short wheel base. land the upper link to how you want. After that things like drive shaft and wheel base would be where to strap the links.

    Edit: reworded something

Isn't bj baldwins blazer pretty similar? Short wheel base and long links.

So a 48" link might be better for this?

I remember the LS FJ that SDHQ did but I don't remember exactly how they set it up. It looked like a reverse 3 link if I remember right.

You can run long links and be just fine. You'll get better straight line stability with the 55 over the 48 and a bit more travel. This is looking at it with prerunning in mind. You can run really long links on a short truck. You just can't droop it out like crazy.

He's going to drag those links like a mofo if he hits any sort of trails.

That might be right where his transmission ends. Hard to tell. But also when you air out and try to land with your wheels dropped down really far seems kinda sketchy for going into a roll if you get too off axis. It's a big top heavy suv. Just my opinion. I'm not too familiar with short vehicles.

Lol I figured he was giving up crawling with those links.
