From what I've been told guy had a custom motor built for a different truck and scraped the idea. He came up on this truck and decided to build that.

Seems pretty cool! Hard to find links for a double cab short bed. Seen other guys with custom ones but I'm not dropping $$$$ for some dude to press print basically lol

Those aren't gonna work on a double cab short bed, unless you want shorten the part newest to the axle

Yeah I think it was about 22"-22.5" from center of axle to the cab. It's going to be a real tight squeeze.

Unless you don't use the front shock mount and just run coilovers.... But I would think that would be a waist. :notsure: I know crazy talk. I'll let the more experienced guys answer.

Also if you think it's as simple as just pressing print your mistaking. You're not taking into account the time that's been spent behind the computer designing them in solid works, prototyping them. Have them bent on a cnc press. That also doesn't include the investment in the 10-20k cnc cutting table.

You're also paying for all the time taken out of their day by time robbers who live 5 states away trying to get info about how they would build their truck, knowing full well they are 5 states away and will never have the 4-6k to pay them to the work, only to see them come on some forum and post that they don't want to pay some glorified Xerox operator

LOL, we tried to get some reasonable motor rules to keep it an entry level grounded class but we weren't successful so we went and played in a different sandbox. I remember the quote at the SNORE meeting I was at in person by the 2000 rep. "Nobody will ever show up with a race motor in class 2000. You can only go so fast with leaf springs anyways." Thing was though I'd already heard from the grapevine the class rep was waiting for the open motor rule himself so he could drop a built motor at his shop ready to go in the truck. Also that throttle isn't an on off switch. Just cause you have 500+hp on leafs doesn't mean you HAVE to go WFO thru the rough. You can save your leafs in the rough by holding back but then on the flats absolutely walk away from the rest of the world!

I personally really wanted the rules to be basically open front suspension, leafs rear, stock motors available to platform. Fullsize allowed, but again, stock motors available to platform. We were unsuccessfull and the rules went the way they did. BITD 7100 fell into place and is a perfect home for those of us that don't want to line up against firebreather race motors. $$$ arms race...

I know of an F150 that will be in the 500hp range that's currently being built with the best of the best parts for class 2000 also! Pandora's box is open! LOL They can deal with it.

FYI, at the Mint both last year and this year I'm 99.999999% certain we lined up with the least amount of HP to the ground in the whole class but have two back to back wins so....

I do someday want to take our truck to a long distance (not bap/ratr) class 2000 race though and go wreckers or checkers and see how we do against the big engines out of pure curiosity.

Jeremy Henderson's truck IMO is the PERFECT truck built to how I personally think the class rules should've been laid out. IMO he's taken 100% full advantage of what I believe the rules should've been with his build and his motorswap. I'd love to see him come play in 7100. I think he'll be really hard to beat for us but I'd love to give it a shot!!!!

On the lakebed at the mint last month, I've seen a photo of another 7100 gps hitting 114mph on the lakebed with their stock V6!!!! LOL, we hit time travel speed of 88mph on the lakebed!!!! The difference, I also ran 82mph thru the big bumps at spectator 4. I was trying to hit our top speed thru the downhill whoops in all honesty! LOL This section... (to be fair though, that's the EXACT section I do ALL of our shock tuning at so our truck shines thru there. LOL)

Not new but I'm confused on the classes. 2000 is SNORE open with leaf's only and 7100 is BITD leafs with bolt on front suspension?

2000 in SNORE/MORE in basic terms is conventional leaf springs in the rear, metal cab, swinging doors, anything else goes.

Class 7100 BITD, mini truck only, STOCK engine offered in platform, no V8. If a-arm front, lower pivots have to be stock. (no centermount) If I-beam, pivots have to be stock. (no equal length), steering has to be stock in concept. Conventional leaf spring rear.

Basically, 7100 BITD has opened up the old 7S rules to allow long travel coilover bolt on kits that are common place with today's style of trucks.

SNORE/MORE is your TT leaf spring class. 7100 BITD is your more limited rules, budget based build.

Entry at the Mint all said and done was $1275 so it is a little bit more pricy to enter.

As a team, we feel it's a more equal playing field and we enjoy racing with BITD. There's a level of professionalism and something cool about being surrounded by the level of teams you are that's hard to put a value on in our opinion. That's just our view though... Others may not see that value and their obviously welcome to that opinion. There's no right or wrong place/series to race with. We simply feel 7100 BITD fits our team and our truck and our budget better. If we could afford the big HP swap and I had the motivation to do the work, we'd maybe go play in class 2000 but at this point, it's not there or an interest for us as a team. We're happy in 7100 and obviously we do pretty good there as well.

It's very freeing to no longer need to build cars for a living. Now I can just say what I feel and others think without worrying about losing money. Some people feel entitled to good work for cheap because the don't value the time, investment, and skill involved in building cars and fabricating parts.
