The C rated ones that I have (because they're a softer compound) will probably wear slightly faster but they're pretty smooth and ride well on the highway. I don't DD my truck but take it to work once or twice per week and the tires are great. I've heard people have a little bit of a tough time balancing them but I haven't had any issues. Some people don't like the noise of the tires but it doesn't bother me at all. I usually have my stereo turned up anyways haha.

Not only do the tires perform well but they look so sick!!!

MTR's are definitely on the pricey side. I feel like the Trail Grapplers might be a good option, and the Open Country MTR doesnt look half bad from reviews too.

Well someone's a Toyo fan huh. I never believe anything I read around tread wear spec's. I've had tires last significantly longer than expected and wear out stupidly quick as well.

I've had horrible luck with 35" BFG AT's and MT's wearing in crazy patterns IE: almost as if every 5th lug is twice as hard of a compound and wearing at half the rate of the lugs around it and bad cupping on the outer edges too. The last set were clearly defective and BFG would not stand behind them, sent them off to be shaved so they didn't feel square anymore and they just did the same thing again...and again BFG would not warranty them.

We've had really good luck with Nitto's on both the truck and our T4R, Terra and Trails. I am going back to a siped AT tire though with the next set because the Trails felt scary in the snow and slush etc.

...and most importantly I like the looks of the Nitto vs the Toyo and that's like +5hp right there

Well Toyo makes tires for Nitto, using a softer compound and different sidewall designs. Nittos are usually a few $ more per tire too with a lighter load rating.

They last longer thru rocks than mtr's, that being said I'd run mtr's again.
Toyo AT's are junk, had ok luck with the MT tho.... It's all personal opinion and how you drive

That's true of many brands in the tire industry, many are made in the same place. There are significant differences in the tread designs between Toyo and Nitto not just sidewalls. In this case the Ridge Grappler is actually available in a higher load rating than the Toyo with many of the sizes available in a load range F...if you really want to rattle your teeth out.

I will be curious to compare the actual spec's such as tread depth and weight etc once all of the new Nitto sizes are available over the next couple of months.

Here is a side by side of the tread and sidewalls :

I definitely dont feel like trying BFG again, ran two sets on the truck (and another on my tahoe) prior to the Red Labels, and they never impressed me. Low traction, bad wear patterns, not even great looks.

So it sounds like Toyo and Nitto are pretty much the same over all, at a better price point then the Goodyears?

Ya you won't be popping either of those tires. The MTR is a tad lighter and comes in load D. I'm running 315/75/16's and I love them.

    They'll drag a 5th gen 4Runner no problem

I've always had my heart set on MT/Rs for my next tires, and never was a fan of the Toyo MT bandwagon that every bro out there has.

    BUT

The Toyo RT really has me thinking as a nice upgrade from my duratracs...

Duratracs have treated me far too well over the years, it's hard to stray away from them. The mt/rs are tempting, but the duratracs just do so good in the winter with the snow. Probably heading to 35's on my next set of tires though, so I'll have some deciding to do then.
