Yeah it ain't cheap apparently. My whole thought behind it was that some day I would have the truck painted properly and fix all the desert pin striping and what not, then have it wrapped to protect the paint job. But for now Id rather put that kind of money into the truck in other ways and just add to the damage that has been done.

That's what I think I would go with. $3k buys a whole lot of nice goodies

Exactly. When the build is done, which will be never, I can spend some more serious money on cosmetics

if you can find someone who owns a nice paint gun and do your research you can paint it yourself. painted my front and rear glass in my backyard and i think it turned out almost perfect. that does limit you to painting your car its OG color cause you can remove the fiberglass

I don't think you can wrap raw gel coat fenders and bedsides. I remember reading that you had to actually paint them first.

I have mine wrapped black. When I went to remove some sections I used a heat gun. I didn't want to take the chance on pulling up the gel coat. It worked good.

@Hippiglass I did it myself so I wouldn't know how much it would cost to have someone do it. Sorry bud.

Did you need to mix in a hardener? That is the easiest way to tell.

I did mine myself, only took a couple hours with a cheap HF spray gun and some color matched paint from a place in Kearny Mesa. Didn't even prime the glass, just a fine sanding and some windex. I left it without clear (nice matte look) and its held up really well for a couple year now! Now I gotta do the fronts to match (was rattle canned like 6 years ago)

I sprayed duplicolor last year and was not happy with it. Going to try a more expensive paint that lays down better. I used my hf gun. The paint is just too soft and rubbery to color sand gloss.

I was afraid to mess it up by doing a clearcoat, and I liked the matte look anyway. I just asked them to mix it according to the paint code and it was damn near dead on. Mixed pint to pint with a reducer and sprayed

The latest build is this 2015 4x4 double cab. Linked with Currie axle, stock bed, and fuel cell. Up front is our new 4x4 kit using Dana 44 hubs and custom axles. Utilizes the stock inner cv for easy installation. Full heim steering and fabricated spindle with unlocking hubs.
