One of my kraigen HIDs just flashes and goes out when I turn them on and it takes 3-4 times turning it on and off to get it to stay on. Does anybody know what causes this?

It's shorting internally. If you pull it apart you will see the burnt wire, should be the white one. Gotta love Chinese engineering. Just insulate it with some electrical tape (3M is made in the USA) and it will work correctly.

You can get them for $60? I can get them for $100, I go through about one a month and would like to find a cheaper place.

Im still running the 18" 600lbs per Total Chaos specs and the front end is pretty stiff. The front end is still about 2" higher than the 62" DMZ SUA rear even at the lowest settings. Thats even after I added extra leaves to my 62" pack. I dont want to go to a 500lbs spring because I will eat my fenders more often on big hits.

    A) Go faster.
    B) Go faster to break in your springs
    C) Clearance your fenders so you can go faster
    D) Douche nozzle.

    Were you drinking and posting?:D

My truck shouldn't go too much faster without a cage. The springs are broken in after 3 years and multiple trips so thats not the case.

I thought about going to Fiberwerx glass because it is 6" wide instead of 4.5" wider and their one piece front clip to clear 35's better. Or maybe re-clearance the entire firewall for 37s.

Oh well my money tree is done for quite awhile anyway.

I was a little hammered. The Beav's went into double overtime and so did my drinking. I'm liking the fiberwerx one piece, I think that would work nicely. I'm in the same situation, and I think 37's would just be too hard on the drivetrain. Maybe your fancy new axle could handle them, but could everything else? Harder to stop, start, turn, it would be harder on shocks, A-arms, bearings...the list goes on. 37's on beadlocks weigh like 175 lbs...per tire, and they cost a small fortune. I think light weight disposable made in china wheels and tires is where it's at, we are going to destroy whatever is on there at the speeds we are driving at anyway, better to keep it within budget.

The MALL?? We cant all live off Barstow Main.:D All I can hope for is 29 Palms for my next duty station.

I dont see the stock hubs/bearings handling 37s either. I dont see why the shocks couldnt handle them. I will admit most trucks and buggies that run 37s are running 3" or bigger shocks and 2.5" hubs. The Toyota hubs/bearings hurt with 35s.

I agree that the brakes would be pretty pressed too. You would probably have to go to bigger brakes and 4 piston Wilwood/Brembos with manual brakes.

The shocks are gonna have a hard time with them due to the 37" tires mass. The shocks have to try to control all that weight going up and down, and adding more tire (more mass) can over work the shocks, cause the oil to heat up, and fade.

True but Im running two 2.5" shocks in the front. A 2.5" King Coilover/2.5" King triple bypass in the front. Im already running a King 2.5"x16" triple bypass in the rear. I considered bumping up to 3.0" shocks in the rear but I dont really think its necessary.

    I understand unsprung wheel weight.;)

My intention if i step up to 37s is buy parts that can handle it. Then you figure out how much power it takes to get you where you want to go. I dont intend on running Toyota parts if I was to step up to 37s. BMS, Sandy Cone and a few others make parts that allow you to do it. Logan brought up a great point the other day about an LS motor being on his to-do list. He is tapped out powerwise from his 4.0.

Were not talking bolt on parts guys.:D

My 3.0's are full open with light valving and are perfect, and even after 100 miles of open desert still warm to the touch vs the cheapy resi 2.0's I was running that would singe your fingers after 10 miles. Plus if I'm packing a bunch of camping stuff and extra fuel I can adjust the bypass and still go fast. I saw the new king 4.5" pure race shocks at the expo last weekend, those are gnarly. That's what you need to handle those 39's on beadlocks. Btw fng's two 2.5's equal one 3.0 damping wise.
