Long Travel BS Thread

Looking for someone to swap out rod ends on some c/o and bypasses. Possibly revalve coilovers for bypasses. Located in lake Elsinore until Tuesday

 

Did you try Dsm? They aren't too far from you

 

They're about 1.5 hour from me so I'd like to find someone a little closer

 

Still think u should sell ur mid travel kit, buy a used lt kit for similar price, pick glass and do rear. That thing would be a fun versital mobber!

Or sell it out right, try the classifieds on DR, RDC etc.

 

eh, probably under. Its a stock replacement coilover, nothing fancy.

 

Looks Good! MGM all day. Surprised your alignment shop was willing to take your truck in and put it on their rack.

 

Uh why ?

 

Seems like some shops wont look twice at trying to align a LT truck because of the "altered suspension", trouble getting the specs back to stock and the fact of fitting the truck on the rack.

 

The truck should not be aligned to stock specs, camber and toe maybe but caster should be nearly double OE spec.

 

Haha it was my usual Toyota dealer that I do a lot of business with and use to work for. They were just really impressed myself and a few friends did it and had no issues. Plus wasn't too badly off on the alignment prior too that alignment.

Right on man. Sounds like you have a good connection whenever you need anything then, so they definitely got you dialed in. Wish I had a place like that to go to.. Reason I bring up the alignment is cause Firestone Auto almost turned me away for spindles... haha.

 

I use a local Firestone to do alignments on all the trucks I install LT kits on. But it's definetly dependent on the techs knowledge

 

Yea it helps to have an in. They love seeing my truck and working on it. It's nice too, that they bring me back to the shop and hang out or ask me some questions. They have never once given be an issue on what I've done, just ask what's next. Haha.

Nice, yeah I definitely agree in regards to the tech. Plus their overall willingness to work on the truck. Have the lifetime alignment so hopefully it comes in handy when the LT kit goes on...

My local Firestone near my work won't even look twice at my truck, they told me no out front when they saw the truck with non-OEM suspension and tires. Hell they even told my dad they wouldn't touch his either and it's just a Raptor with a pre-runner style bumper and Generals... funniest part was he was just there to pick me up.

 

Pathetic down to the book techs.

 

Bummer man! Where'd you end up taking your truck? I have the lifetime alignment with Firestone so If they ever turn me away I'll just say and ask for a refund haha.

 

Firestone is worthless. The last time I went there I noted I had loose lug nuts (dealer kept stealing my socket), alignment tech notes stated loose lug nuts, I go to pick the truck up after its alignment, and unscrew almost all of the lug on my front tires by hand. Made them give me a torque wrench, checked all lugs, never payed for the alignment, walked away
