I'll talk to my pops, I know he needs some lights on his new race truck and I think the roof mounts are setup up for a 52" BD bar.

5.29s all day with 35s. either tranny. Torque is awesome.

Id hate 4.88s with an auto and 35s.

    5.29s for sure.

Which is what steered me towards the 9". I have heard stories how the gears get weak at 4.88 and above, that and the 9" has so many options its not even funny. I could do 4.56, 4.63, 4.71, 4.78, 4.86, 5.00, 5.14, 5.25, 5.29, 5.37, 5.40 etc etc :goingcrazy:

Those of you with the running the dmz kit and bypasses, what's the layout on your bypass tubes?

Anyone go with a custom layout? I want to avoid notching the gram if at all possible.

Running 1.5" wheel spacers right now. Trying to decide between 2 tube or 3 tube.

This is the way mine was setup (3 tube) but the thing is mine is notched and i also have a rear bedcage so i dont really have to worry about the notch as much. But i was talking to a guy at solomotorsports and they mount bypasses without notching the frame, i think they used spacers or something idk but id give them a call. GL:thumbsup:

Yeah it looks like we have similar bed cages. Just don't have too much room for activities left in the wheel wells.

yes, but only the 8.4" one, no elockers

5.29 better everywhere but the freeway
    4.88 better on the freeway

It's very simple. Buy kings in layout number two and you'll basically have the same clearance you have now

I'm assuming fox has a similar layout. Going to be going with fox, through kartek. I guess I need to give someone a holler over there and see what's up.

yea i think that is a common misconception. Yes the pinion gets smaller. But even gear master Zuk thinks that 5.29s are stronger than 4.88s.

The real trick is setting our damn diffs up right..much harder than it appears.

the 9'' will be easy. But yea, you have a shit load of gear ratios lol and you're a prerunner so no front diff to match...which really means..when's the front race kit go on? :p

I have 4.70 out of a older T100 a little sluggish on street but highway is great, there is also 4.90 if your considering 4.88 don't need to regear just get the whole diff and drop it in haha, that's what I did.

Would you guys consider 5.29's for me ?
my truck is caged front to back so some added weight, but on very light bfg at and method 35x15" combo two spares and 3.4 Auto I drive half street and half highway. current rpms are roughly 2700 at 70-75 I believe.

Well i think 4.88s with 33s and an auto is just a tad over stock feel. 5.29s would be better but if you drive a lot of freeway, not sure it's worth it. I don't mind goint 70 @3300rpm with my manual. I never have to down shift and can pull hills. The 5vzfe doesn't mind the higher rpms either.

He can't rock a 4.70 or 4.90 unless he finds a front diff like that too..
