Interested in opinions & experiences with giant 64 vs. Deaver h70/e30. Figure cost wise it's about the same if using TC shackles and spring relocations. Is the giant kit capable of significantly more travel? Also does it absolutely need a wider axle or could a stock width axle be used with 2" wheel spacers until going with a wider axle?

Ridden in multiple trucks with both and built both trucks with both leaf packs. I will lean towards the 64 pack a little more as the amounts of arch the pack has is nuts and yes it pulls more travel not a ton more but a few inches more. Riding and seeing trucks with the 64 pack is amazing and they are always so fast and really do handle a lot. But don't leave out the 62s because with good tuning they will also do a pretty good job. Only down side for the 64 pack is on the first gens since they do not have a dovetailed frame like the tundras and newer tacomas and you either have to buy from giant or make a front leaf spring mount and rear leaf mount and short shackle. Not to say its hard its not terrible either but its not as easy and already y set in stone like the 62 leaf pack setup 52.50 mount to mount hangers , 12" shackles and your set. And that getting hangers and shackles is more accessible than getting just giants kit. As for the axle you do not really need the axle but safe to say most of the people that don't usually end up doing it later. Both leaf packs work perfectly fine for most people out there the 62s will be perfect.

Back to having a front mounted winch. Time to upgrade those coil springs.

I have some brand new 18'' 700lb Eibachs if you want. Paint is scuffed here and there from being moved around the shop all the time.

I've tried to get 18" on before and I couldn't. These AP coil overs are more of a 7" than an 8" CO.

What size coilover spring rate would you guys recommend for a camburg LT front with fox coilovers? They came from downsouth with #550 and they are too soft I believe. I do have a DTF style B bumper which adds a bit of weight to the front as well, but my truck sits just at stock height and is a bit bouncy when driving. Any recommendations?

springs should only be used to set ride height, so if thats were you want it leave the springs alone; if its too bouncy you probably need a flutter shim/fulcrum shim or lighter compression valving

So if I'm sitting on #550 right now which is just about stock height, how much height does #600 or #650 give?

Try the crawlpedia spring rate calculator. You put in a bunch of data and it will output the factor your looking for

I can't say for sure without doing some math. I would need the amount the spring is compressed to even give a guess

600# is what was recommended for my front kit. Unless you're carrying a ton of weight in front with bumper, winch, armor etc then that might be good. It would be good to weigh your truck at a scale that at least does fore and aft readings to get that info for calculating spring rates - any local truck scale should be able to do it. Cost me $10. Plus it's just interesting to know imo!

Stock lowers aren't strong enough for that. If stock replacement like TC's then bump off the lower.
