I'm having a major brain fart here and I feel dumb for asking. Do I just hook up a positive battery lead from my alternator + side to my batteries in the bed?

Totally fucking realized today the reason why my batteries keep going flat is because they only have power going to the truck, nothing comes back. That's probably why my truck never had a charged battery after sitting for a little bit, the alt wasn't doing shit.

yep all you have to do.

I add a breaker(depending on how big the alt is, size accordingly) right off the alt and again right at the battery. Big chunk of cable between there with a lot of juice pumping through it.

You have to remember that when a glass company says +6 that generally means +6" from the metal surface of the OE fender not +6" from the OE plastic fender flare. A lot of people think it means 6 more inches of tire coverage when in fact it is only 4 ish more inches. I just spoke to McNeil about that recently and confirmed. That being said your average truck with a +2 kit and 35's w/ 4.5" backspaced wheels which are also a couple inches over stock easily fills out a glass fender.

Thanks, brother. Got my truck fired up finally, the e2000 fuel pump is a bitch to prime but I made it work in the sketchiest way possible lol. Just gotta order a breaker and some 2 gauge cable now.

Pretty sure I've got the 130 amp alt in my truck, 150 amp breakers will be ordered.

Make sure to reference one of those charts that shows you what gauge wire to use vs how long the run is etc I think most folks end up going with 0 gauge when they do the math. Also be careful ordering wire online a lot of it is under sized garbage, check the dual battery thread there are Amazon links to reputable wire sellers.

Thanks. I have 2 gauge on there which came with the truck. Might as well upgrade to 0 gauge and add the breaker. It's only money, right?

I had it on my first gen. Complete shit. The shackles are too narrow and hit the frame when you flex. The spring pack is just a Deaver F67 which doesn't hold weight for shit as soon as you add 2 spares. You are better off piecing the bits together (and cheaper.).

yours was the link killer kit? i thought yours was just the normal Giant SUA kit..

    Yours didn't look like this:

and i know you didn't have the bed cage like this and all that..but i mean the inverted shackles and all..

Link Killer normally refers to Giant's "custom" shocks. Which basically just means a performance series king shock with a pure race compression tube (larger tube) but everything else is performance series.

Giant sells a 62" and a 64" long travel kit. The 64" is inverted shackle while the 62" is a traditional shackle above the frame. I had the 62" kit...and replaced everything except the front spring hangers.

I've seen that 64 kit do pretty good. Only seen it on hard core built trucks. They do complain that you can't put much power to the ground with the wheel hop. My buddy with an f150 even changed the geometry from what was recommended on it to help it even more. I think that kit you can get about 18" to 19" with 18" bypasses.

Definitely a solid kit. Can't complain about not putting power to the ground because I still have the stock v6 but it does cycle 18-19" with a 16" shock. About 10-11" up from ride height. Cut off those stock bump pads and replaced them with hydro bumps.

Sad to say man I think you and me are it. I will say this I think Roadrunner does very minimal stuff to fit on. I think if you go with McNeil you will have just as good if not better quality. Not to knock on roadrunner, but McNeil has had some serious projects and a lot of experience in their stuff so they know first hand what items need to be in the glass. I can def tell that glassworks was a little better with fitment and support options on my last truck than roadrunner. At a minimum, you can help pioneer the third gen experience by trying out their glass!

Wait so you got spacers coupled with a 3.5 kit up front? Damn man that's serious, I removed my front spacers when I went 3.5.

Yeah I saw it. Wouldn't mind winning the truck. Is it a new 2nd gen, an old episode, or a used truck entirely?
