Long Travel BS Thread

Already had a LT rig when I bought my Tacoma but I something wanted 4x4. It was just a leveling kit on the first weekend. That turned into wheels and tires, followed by a supercharger after a year of ownership then full snowball effect.

 

I've been eyeballing something like an Ecoboost Mustang or a WRX, but then 5 minutes later I'm googling bigger turbo and performance stuff and then my whole excuse to the wife "why I need a commuter car" goes right out the window and then I start thinking I should just say Fuck gas mileage and buy a big ass V8 American muscle car lol. It's a vicious spiral.

 

V8 muscle FTW, my daily driver is a ZL1 Camaro and I can't keep my eyes off of long tube headers, a cam, E85, and smaller pulleys. Then I remember the desert and how it usually won't get me in trouble with Johnny Law.

Yeah but then I'm back to 12mpg and speeding tickets lol. At least with a 4 cylinder Mustang, I can up the turbo size all day long and still get 30 mpg when I stay out of the gas

 

You know what, another like 4 grand gets you close to 500hp in those cute little 4 bangers lol. have been browsing some of the mustang forums just doing a little research and all the V8 crowd HATE up on the ecoboosters that get the upgraded turbos lol (because they are beating them)

 

They do make good power if you slap a nice turbo on them. Strong motors. I still like how much shit people talk on them. It's more like 6-7k. Turbo, Intake, Intercooler, exhaust, fueling, Accessport

I've had two customers go that route both blew their mustangs up and replaced them with v8's. One of them said something about driving a mustang that sounded like a civic just wasn't that appealing anymore

 

Yeah true. My thing is- all my money is going in to the truck, I just want a good commuter that gets great gas mileage, but also gets up and goes when I want it to. Kinda leaning towards a WRX for 2 car seats in the back, but the wife said don't really worry about that since I don't drive the kids around all that often.

yeah I actually looked at that as well. Buddy at work has a Golf TDI, actually gets up and goes pretty frikkin fast and still gets 30+ mpg, but I dislike hatchbacks

 

Leave it stock. It cuts into truck fund quick.
