F it all those places (minus Pismo) are too hot right now anyway. If you can afford to rent a car I'd say drive it to the beach.

@Caboose117 Sorry to hear about your experience. I have had similar issues with shops and/or getting parts while being stationed in parts of the country other than California.

Lots of Offroad companies see the $$ that can be made selling Toyota parts to the huge aftermarket crowd and attempt to jump into the marketplace and get a slice of the market share. But oftentimes they don't really have the production capacity or they are not willing to allocate their resources to keep up with the demand for their products.

For custom stuff like LT race kits, roll cages, and fabricated parts the best advice anyone could give you is that the higher end shops like DMZ, LSK, Dirt Designs, Solo Motorsports etc are much more likely to stick to their deadlines. They are pricey but worth it in the end. But even the best off-road shops in the industry get behind.

For shocks, not many companies can get their shocks faster to a customer than @Downsouth Motorsports. Lots of offroad shops want you to order your shocks through them but they take longer and cost more.

I hope you get your parts soon and get your truck back on the road soon.

Took it for a spin last night only to find out trucks in limp mode from ditching the air injection system. I was told you can ditch it without any issues but that's apparently not the case:anonymous:

He wasn't too helpful with me until I wrote him a novel on how to properly be a customer service agent and how I wasn't bashing the company, simply telling him what would be better for future customers to better business and have more profit avenues. I had to buy a competitors steering extension because JT said "one off steering extension most likely won't happen". Even though they clearly advertise for my year and vehicle. They had no clue the inners were smaller than a 2nd gen. It was a huge fight to where JT got defensive (never get defensive or take it personal in CS). Once I offered to put a micrometer on the steering extension I bought (to actually be able to drive my vehicle) JT let me know they ran down the street to get an inner for my year to be able to make them for the future. Now I'm not sure why it's easier to do that AFTER I fixed my issue and told him the proper measurements but whatever. I'm done dealing with JT and BajaKits should really think about getting someone who knows what they're doing to man the front lines.
Extremely happy with the kit now that it's finished, but man if I didn't have a clue what I had to do, I'd be furious.

And here I am a little irritated with the fit on some of my Total Chaos components....but at least they sent the entire kit, arrived promptly and everything worked together. :bananadead:

Man... You guys are starting to worry me.

I got in on the Baja Kits GB that closed in early July. A 3 week lead time was mentioned in the GB thread, and they've missed that. I contacted JT to see if they were on schedule. He said they were just getting to welding, and it would be a few more weeks because of them moving shops.

Just sit tight - anyone's guess is as good as the next when you will get your kit. That said I'd invest in some better brake lines that fit with our clips and brackets and shorter limit straps with adjustable clevis attachments.

Thanks for the advice on the brake lines and straps. There's a member with an ongoing buy for Goodridge lines, so I imagine it's possible to order custom lengths.

    Any recommendations on limit straps?

I only needed 8" straps with adjustable clevis. The ones they give are 10" and weld on mounts. I'd go 8" with adjustable Clevis. But I'm 4wd so you may get more.

Some other people may have some better sources, but I was looking here before I decided to sell my kit and buy a first gen:

    https://www.kartek.com/parts-categories/limiting-straps.html

Yeah you'll only need 12" or so between the clevis and the strap combined before you hit metal on metal. I had mine strapped at 11.5" from dead center on the frame.

Thanks again for the info. I'm a Prerunner, so it will be interesting to see what I end up with for travel.

I did a quick search after I posted, and I was just looking at their website.

He's the one running the ongoing buy that I was thinking on. Anyone know the length of the lines that come with the Baja Kits setup?

LOL. I thought it was odd that JT keeps saying that they didn't have any internet or phones and has been for at least a month. I keep thinking 'how long does it take to get internet and phone setup?'. I've never been without internet for longer than a week when I've moved houses.

They're excessively long - I'd hit up Total Chaos and ask how long their lines are that go with their +2 kit.
