What you're reading about the rear disc conversion is a bunch of people that A - are just regurgitating what they have read from other people that don't know wtf they are talking about and B - the people that did it wrong and did not upgrade the master cylinder to the appropriate size to match the needs of the new rear disc calipers and then jumped on TW stating that it didn't work good... thus creating the aforementioned A's...

Exactly, when i did research on it all i could find was a bunch of BS. No real info on what really needs to be done. So i sad fuck it and went with a BBK in the front. It seemed like there was more negatives about the rear and no straight answers. Im not a mechanic so without useful info and good write ups it was to big of a job for me. This is why i hate when some people say google it first. TW is cluttered with BS

Nice man, Im looking to get the BBK for the front. Did you get the four piston or six? I was looking to try out the four.

Don't forget that one of the biggest factors is how much larger your rotor is / will be, a 20mm larger rotor with a 4 pot caliper is a huge upgrade. A 6 pot caliper will not work as intended with a stock master cylinder and you will have a soft pedal.

Ah good to know, so if I stayed with a four piston it should be ok with the stock master cylinder? Def appreciate the insight as I havnt looked much into the brake stuff besides the kit.

How long ago was this? I tried a while back and nothing, went in person and nothing. Called during the summer and they said Kartek manages everything for them now.

It's all about volume of fluid and moving that fluid at the intended pressure, if you add anything that requires more fluid to be moved you must upgrade the master cylinder. SOS Performance now has multiple master cylinders available to match all of the big brake and rear disc conversions they offer and they have dialed it all in working with Stoptech. SOS has the adapter plates for the master cylinder to the booster and adapters for the brake lines etc all worked out in their kits now.

    Yes.

It's kind of a complicated swap for an 01-04 tacoma and the T100 is a 4 bolt flange. So you ha e to swap boosters as well.

I'll post my link that shows the comparison of everything. I went back to the smaller Mc though and it's so much better

RE: booster bolt pattern - Similar for second gens, the upgraded master cylinder is from a Sequoia w/ a different bolt pattern so they provide a machined adapter plate and an extension for the piston in the kit.

Yes but more volume means less pressure. So that in itself means softer pedal which was my experience.

    Went from a 13/16" MC To a 1 1/16" and a single diaphragm booster to a dual.

Pedal was super soft with my tundra brakes
Swapped back to the 13/16s and it was rock hard and could lock up all 4. Before couldn't do that.

That's because I went for less volume and higher pressure.

Now that said. You are 100% correct on if you swap from a 4 piston to a 6 you need more volume for that caliper.

But swapping to a larger MC with just upgraded 4 pistons aren't worth it.
