I got this kit http://giantmotorsports.com/index.php/product/tacoma-2005-2014-64-long-travel-leaf-spring-kit/ . I can feel the whole cab vibrate like crazy during low miles just driving around. I was recommended to go to J E Reel at Pomona, maybe he can do something about it.

At droop I have 6 degrees of angle, compression 0 degrees of angle and it was set at 4 degrees at ride height. He's telling me the diff moves alot and is bound to bind the carrier bearing.

I know mine has the weird system without the traditional vacuum booster and without the ABS box on the passenger side. For a while I wanted to upgrade the rear brakes (for aesthetic reasons) but I feel like it does fine. Comparing the Tacoma to my ZL1 with massive 6 pots up front and 4 pots out back, the truck won't stop on a dime but I don't feel shorted of braking power either.

Any of you long travel guys take your truck to Firestone for alignment? They have a $30 off coupon till the end of the month for lifetime alignment

It's hit or miss depending on what location you go to - with a bolt on kit it shouldn't be too bad. A 10" coilover caged truck might give them a bad first impression, but you should be good to go. Just tell them it's the sport edition or better yet just play dumb :)

I think this is a good point. I got my truck set up at a local ntb and they did it pretty well. I honestly got no vibes or drifts with it considering how cheap I paid as they have a $70 6 month deal I jumped on with the idea that I would probably have to return.

They were very rude to me and refused to touch the truck. The guy went off saying how dangerous is it to change the control arms with aftermarket ones and how I'm putting myself in danger could cause a deadly accident.

I think it would probably be more dangerous to have him touch your truck and drive it after lol.

Agreed, if that dude wasn't in the know as it is...doubt he could help much.

I had a guy strip out both cam bolts on one side because the tie rod extensions were too long that came with my kit and he couldn't get the toe in spec. I figured it out in about 10 minutes. Unfortunately he had done his thing while I was gone.

I imagine they didn't help front that bill.

I exclusively use a local Firestone. But with that said all firestones aren't equal and it depends on what you want. I need the alignment shop to align to the specs I give them. Their main alignment tech won't do that, but another guy will. Lots say they have a good experience at firestones but really don't know what they are getting. They leave with something silly like 2* of castor and don't realize it's fucked until they try mounting a set of big tires on their truck.

Most shops don't know what alignment specs our trucks need so they just get them within factory specs. You definelty want to find a shop that will work with you to set everything to your desired specs.

If your running small tires like 33's then most Firestone alignments will work just fine for you

Lol. They didn't charge me since they couldn't get it in spec and I didn't find out it was stripped until 6 months later when I removed the kit.
