Ah, that's awesome. I am a SW pro (I work at a VAR), so I was just curious. Awesome work man, it's so freaking cool to go from 3D model to real life.

Yea and I’m blown away how well it all laid out with all my measurements and cycling it on the computer.... once I had all the upper mounts and coil bucket off it located on the frame perfect... and it works really well out of the box so far... need to tweak the valving some but that’s a given with any new setup

lol beats the Solo Tundra rack for $3500 if I heard Paul correctly on the phone last week - in terms of price, maybe not in epicness. On that note Paul said any first gen guys can get their rack rebuilt by the guys that do it for Solo with top quality parts and aerospace seals for $350 if they're local enough to drop it off at Solo and can go a couple weeks without it. He said they used to send them out, but now they just offer them as a service for those who can drop them off.

Pretty sure the solo rack for second gens has been shortened and the flow valve deal modified to work on a taco

I just figured it would make for a good core for solo...

3500? That's the highest price I've heard by a couple grand. But what do I know, my trucks pretty much stock

I thought it sounded like a lot - that might have included installation. :notsure:

I blame toyota for the weakass stock taco rack. I mean C'mon, they know for a fact we don't stick with stock tire sizes let alone 33s. I'm probably going to stay 33s for the main reason of the rack itself; that and fuel economy. I suppose in a perfect world, they would beef up the rack, the drivetrain, and the engine... But we pay bank for the new equipment as it is. Retrofitting and installing a tundra rack is definitely a niche service with that kind of coin and core.

But soooo worth it if you can afford. I wish I had a garage full of machine tools and a welder - I'd have a lot of abortions, but eventually... :D

I definitely agree the viability of the upgrade is definitely there, but on top of the kind of money that our crowd is paying for suspension and drivetrain, the crowd that can afford is quite small. Probably why Solo doesn't really go crazy marketing it and also that they are the only one I know doing it.

That's when you know you're the best - when you get business without saying anything. The best thing in my opinion is that they're so polite and willing to shoot the breeze. I had called to ask about spindles and we ended up talking about steering and that got Paul on to steering racks and mentioned that they could send my first gen rack out for a high quality rebuild which I don't think they'll see much money for. It's that kind of thing that makes me feel good about spreading the word about them and I know they're expensive, but they're worth it if you can afford it for sure. I just need a better paying job that still lets me do what I love to do lol. Teaching kids with disabilities in the ghetto don't make them Solo ends.

Yeah, it's great to see that vendors like Solo really taking the time to provide good customer service to the community. That's nice that they'll rebuild the racks too, I didn't know they offered that. Every little bit helps. haha.

Yeah and for the price of an autozone remanufactured rack. Just call them up - I think they can do a lot they don't advertise about anymore since our trucks have gotten older and replaced by newer models.
