So basically if you pay extra, have a friend that works there,or find that unicorn. Firestone is all good. Sounds like good odds. Even thought they were caught red handed at multiple locations across the state on hundreds of fraudulent charges and currently on probation in the state of California. Hmmm. I will pass. Unless you live next to that unicorn.

That's the best price around then. Carrier bearings do run $100 plus just for the (high quality) part though.

Maybe you do know a guy ;)

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/how-to-do-an-alignment-at-home.252256/

I've done my toe adjustment with the string method and gotten it in spec on one side and almost in spec on the other, but that was just to go to a shop. Eye-balled it when I took off my lt kit and was almost in spec, but it's not what you'd want to do for anything other than again, driving to a shop lol.

Two Fstones in your area have pretty good reviews on google.

    Google. You trust google.lol
You can pay for google reviews. And to be top of google search. I posted hard facts from BAR. Thier notes from there investigation. Now its a state agency that did this investigation and being a state worker, im telling you it was very vage, and not as harsh as it could have been. state workers are not as efficient as non state workers. So take it as you wish. And roll the dice.

Fair enough. Being new in a state where I didn't know anyone I've made out pretty well basing a lot of my purchases through reviews on Amazon, google, and yelp.

I guess there's a method of deciphering info that I've gotten used to doing :notsure:

For instance, google reviews often mention the name of a guy at a shop like that so if he works there still I'll ask for him by name. If he's gone I'll move on...

I'm a cheapskate so I learn to find a good buy when I can get one - too bad it didn't work out that way on my first gen lol. Can't buy experience though :)

    Your a unicorn. Lol
Not very many people do that much research as to a nsmed person. Im not saying dont go see that guy. I had a good run at lea swab for over 10 yrs until the manger left and that shop went to shit. BUTif i franchise has bad practices it will eventually catch up to you.

What usually needs to be replaced when you experience driveshaft vibration after having a spring under axle kit? Carrier bearing and u joints? What about adding a slip yoke?

Depending on the severity and how long you've had the vibrations, your joints may be good. Again, there's no reason you should be getting vibrations. Tons of guys on here have had sua installs with no problems. A slip yoke just makes sure your driveshaft doesn't poke into your transmission or transfercase if you're 4x4. If the pinion angle's wrong then all the drive line work in the world won't correct it.

Did you ask Geoff what he thought about this? I'm curious to hear what he has to say since the only 2nd gens I've seen this kit installed on were regular cabs or access cabs - so only long beds. If the issue is that he didn't design the kit correctly for short beds and that's why you need to have the driveshaft shortened it would be interesting to see what he says about it.

Drivelines Inc. in Mission Viejo. They lengthened the one on my truck quickly. They also do drive shafts for past and present desert racers.

My neighbor had his front ds on his Jeep turned around in one day from this place delivered and picked up from his work in Costa Mesa because he works at a marine engine shop.
