Not to mention, and I may be wrong here. But didn’t DK beat TC to the race style lower uniball before TC built their race lowers. Maybe I was wrong with the buzz phrase “pushing the limit” but they are trying to make things better. More ground clearance, more travel... what’s wrong with that?

Give @MojaveMadman and myself a year to throw some dirt miles on our kits and we will chime back in with a quality and performance report:thumbsup: Customer service has been unmatched by them so far, and upon first look and a few months of use by me, quality seems to be on par with the other big names out there. Sans this little cv clearance issue, I am extremely happy and not one to be quick to bad mouth a company over something small when they are willing to help you out and provide a solution

I'm just trying to figure out based on your claims what is so innovative about a kit that to an outside observer is clearly not engineered correctly. Cheaper generally doesn't mean better, it just means corners were cut.

I'm just calling it as I see it man. I can think of 3 users that have been posting in here a lot lately that all bought DK kits (You, Snoskate and Erok) and have all had nothing but stupid problems with them.

FYI, my Camburg 3.5 kit is strapped at 14.5 with zero axle bind, no diff drop, no machined axles and my CV boots don't touch at droop. Just saying.

Agree to drink beer and drive fast in the desert if we ever meet up! haha. No need to go back and forth on slight things or stupid problems. I can say in my communications with Dirt King they are very responsive and have acted fast to make things good. I know they will get this redesign of their kit dialed in, just like every company does. They all have their issues. I have seen people have problems with everything, it is just part of the offroad game.

I'll drink beer with anyone  but your last statement isn't true at all. Big companies, reputable companies, established companies do this thing called testing before they release their product to the general public. They recognize issues before the kits go into production and are sold to the masses. Unless you agree to it its not your responsibility as the consumer to do this testing for them.

For example, on my way home from the Off-Road expo in October of 2016 I stopped by Icon to say hey to a few friends and what do I find installed on their 2016 Tacoma? The RXT rear leaf and shock kit. They had been testing it for almost 4 months at that point and continued to test for almost another year before they released it to the public this fall, and that was a leaf spring and shock package, way way way less involved than a bolt on LT kit.

I've been around this market for a long time. I have facilitated, sold, installed and serviced countless kits from tons of companies. I've never heard more issues from a kit than what the 3 of you are having. And dont even get me started on their instructions to erok about his front bumps and that abortion of a shock hoop they sent him. I'm literally the worst welder I have ever met and I'm pretty sure I could slap together something cleaner than what they sent him with the shit I have in my garage.

We are just the newest guys joining the LT family and happen to be doing it all at about the same time. LT isn't as cool as expedition and broverlanding is right now. :crapstorm:

Jk I do want a rtt that I can throw on for long camping trips, gonna be expo af!!! But also like rock crawling and going fast in the desert.

Too bad icon didn’t “test” their top hats before selling them.

I don't understand what long travel being "cool" has to do with anything? If its not ready for market, you don't sell it. Its a pretty simple concept.

I'll bet SDHQ does more testing on their A-pillar mounts and dirt king does on their LT kits.

Meaning it has been far more popular and "cool" as of the last year or so, to build an expo rig instead of building a LT truck? You said we 3 have been posting a lot in here, and I meant that that is because we are the 3 that built LT trucks vs expo rigs lately.

I :crapstorm:at you because you are someone selling a nicely built LT truck and building a third gen expo rig.

I'll agree that the cv clearance is an issue that shouldn't have ever made it to production, and will likely be remedied on future kit revisions. But like I said, give us some desert miles and we will see if there are any other real issues with these kits. Cheaper doesn't have to mean cheaper or corners were cut. They aren't as well known as TC or Camburg and they have a very nice price point to get their product out to people

That dk just needs a little bend in the lower arm to clear the CV... pretty simple design overlook which sucks for you guys

Looking to build a 9 in rear end with a ruffstuff housing. Would be semi float with ford big bearings and 31 spline. Whos got the best deal on shafts, brakes, and a 3rd member with arb? Thinking currie shafts, explorer brakes and get rotors from an online dealer with 6x5.5. Not sure what to do 3rd member wise. A built one is 2,000 or more. Wondering if itll be cheaper to order gears, arb, and install kit and get a used 3rd housing and pay to have it setup that way. Not sure how much that will save though. Any thoughts?

ps. its for a crawler but more guys run 9in on this side of the forum and figured there may be more info available.

Yes beer is good:cheers: Get yours all buttoned up and come out to play. First round is on me
Agreed, time will tell if these kits are as bad as theirs.
Agreed and the fix for us is a bandaid. But nothing to be scared about doing. I would imagine they are fixing this for future kits.

    Wrecked!
The question is will they revise there design?
Not just the spacers, and if they do will they recall the current ones.
    Not likely! But who knows.

Yeah likely not recall current ones, but I would be shocked if they didn't revise the design.
