So Micah just informed me of this sweet 5-11 week lead time at King...

Before I put my name on that long list does anyone have any 16” bypasses they want to sell or know of any leads on anyone who may have in stock or anything. My DMZ kit is 3 weeks out and it would be cool to have some shocks...

Try Poly performance or Kartek. They are both King dealers and may have shocks in stock.

Does Micah still work at DSM? I had the impression he had left, but maybe I'm imagining things...I've talked to different people the last few times I've spoke with them.

I'm supposed to get a price on some coilovers soon for another shop to price match and I'm looking for the best deal - any suggestions besides DSM and Filthy Motorsports? The wait time's been like that for awhile - looking on the bright side I like to call it the financial recovery period :)

Nice man that the kit is three weeks out! He just sent mine out yesterday with all the goodies so I cant wait to get that installed. I know you can always order from ADS...they might have better wait times. I remember ordering my kings back in November when they had only two sets geared towards the dmz kit left in stock as dsm.

If you're going for the tube layout where they are all forward, that's gonna be your wait. I was 11 weeks for mine. It is a standard option that is available, but it is not the standard option so it is something that I doubt anyone is going to have in stock

His email still says DSM in the signature area... first I have heard of this.

I shot ADS an email to see what they can do for that configuration. I’ll also call them if I don’t hear back soon.

When I talked to Tim at DMZ he said they don’t have a special shock tune, they recommend off the shelf valving.

I was more hoping someone had a used set... I didn’t expect to find anything new. Tim at DMZ said he was also trying to source a set for a customer who is racing so I assumed he already made the rounds to all the normal dealers...

I didn't really know that the kings themselves could be orchestrated for his kit until I talked to DSM. This could strictly mean in terms of the tube construction and layout, but they were familiar with the kit and did a revalve on them before sending them to me.

Ok so it looks like my point of confusion was on the tube styles. I just ran through the bed cage thread again and it looks like if I go 2.5" then I can run the style 1, tubes on the side of the shock, not moved to the front. But if I want to run a 3.0, thats when you need the style 2, tubes moved to the front.

This tracking with the general consensus?

Sounds right...I got style 1 for mine in the 2.5.

That is what most people do. You'll still need spacers or a wider axle to clear the 2.5s. When I talked to Tim he said if you are not rock crawling and getting a lot of articulation you will be fine, but if you do, and don't notch the frame, you'll rub under flex.

I went with the style 2 tubes facing forward because I do a fair amount of crawling and getting flexy and did not want to rub. With 2" wheel spacers my tires hit the bedcage before they rub on the shocks and are bumped before that happens

Have you pulled your shock apart and compared to a standard one?

No, but considering they could have sent them out that day and said it would take an additional day with the revalving I took their word for it? :notsure:
