I love it. Video is crap so I won't upload. But once I do find a good jump I'll make sure it's fully documented.

Considering a rear axle swap before installing my DMZ kit.
    I'm +3.5 camburg up front.
Do y'all think a 68" ford 9 housing is wide enough? Suggestions, or opinions. No facts please! Ha!

    wide enough for..what?

Thats only i think 2'' wider than what you have now..i believe 2nd gen axles are 66"..might be 65.

    So 1'' wider per side.

Not gonna be enough to run outboard shocks if thats what you want.

    Right! Forgot that.

than go for it I guess. Still be narrower than the front but not by a ton.

Wide enough for what - to make the swap worth it? I'd say it's more for the strength of the 9" since front track width doesn't have to match the rear for any reason other than aesthetics and if the rear were narrower it would reduce the turning radius.

Do any of you guys get a shitty clucking in your steering colum when driving over anything even moderately rough? My steering wheel is tight for sure and I checked all the bolts in the linkage and they are all tight, it seems like it’s coming from the u joint linkage in the steering assembly just before the rack, has anyone else had this issue or is it just me?

I remember a mod on 2nd gens that had to do with a zip tie being placed between the steering shafts. It may take some time to find it - I'm not at home right now.

I saw that and did it and it seemed to reduce the shake in the assembly when I would shake it while not driving, but when I drove it there was still just as much clunk and shake as before

On first gens when the steering rack bushings get worn out there's some play that develops and the steering gets sloppy - could you mount a camera somewhere to see what's clunking when it happens? It may be difficult to fit one somewhere, but it helps deduce stuff like that once in awhile.

It’s most likely the rack bushings I just had the same clunking and i put in some energy supension rack bushings and its gone. To check have somone turn your steering wheel back and forth fast with the truck on and you look and see if the rack moves.

I’ll definitly give that a try it’s getting super annoying and frustrating trying to figure it out, time for a steering upgrade
