Don't go with a 4x4 3.5 kit. I hate my mine because I can't fit 35s easily and at least I feel the need for bigger tires. I suggest a bigger kit like that of Dirt Designs or LSK or if you have the means, then Solo. Since I'm in Texas there isn't a market to sell my 3.5 kit and buy the LSK kit.

Did lsk just come out with a 4x4 kit? I guess I've been out of the loop...

I was gonna say DD just since @tacokid09's truck was one of my favorite ones on here and it was a regular cab too. DD and a regular cab just seem to go with one another from now on in my mind lol

It came out a few years ago. Sadly it was about 6 months after I got my 3.5 kit.

The 3.5 kit possibly, the shocks not really. I have matching Sway-A-Ways for all around plus they would work on the LSK kit. I'd probably want about $3400 for the Camburg 3.5 kit with heim steering, extended axles, gusseted spindles. Granted a new kit with shafts is $3800 but they don't offer the upgraded heim steering which was another $500 IIRC.

Well obviously they expected more than they got if they are changing :notsure: I know my 3.5 no longer keeps up with the rear, so it will eventually be changed. Someone with a brand new truck looks at all of us like we are crazy because they "dont know what we expect from a truck". Well obviously opinions differ and here we have TW

My truck is LT 3.5 and 64" rear springs. Can I get on top of 3' whoops? no. Do I expect to? no. Can I jump it? yes. Do I? no. When hauling ass and a 3' cross ditch jumps out in front of me while chasing an antelope, did I die? no. Did the truck handle it? yes. Have I been to Baja, Cabo, Nevada, California, Utah, Colorado and had a blast and not turn a wrench? yes! Do I return home with a giant smile on my face? yes.

single handedly most annoying bi-product of having a kit.

@Jon64l and i installed the DMZ sua kit and bed cage this past weekend on my 3rd gen dcsb. very well buit and the parts fit great. absolutely zero complaints. Tim manufactures fantastic products. hardest part was the gas tank really.

Is the LSK a bolt on 4.5 over kit that uses 8" shocks?

Yeah it's a 4.5 kit with 8" shocks in stock location. Pushes the wheelbase forward too I believe.

Well my other truck is a Geiser trophy truck so I expect a lot from a bolt on kit. Kidding! The Tacoma is no comparison to my Geiser. I just want a bit more performance with the bigger tires, specially when comparing it to my XP Turbo which is faster on rough stuff.

What axle setup - that's sweet - now there's 3 companies doing 4.5 kits for 2nd gens including BTF and I think they might do a 4x4 kit since they have a 4.5 4x4 kit for 1st gens - no spindle afaik though.

In the back I'm stock e-locker axle with DMZ SUA and 3.0s. I've done some tuning and they are nearly spot on. Probably one last re-valve and then I can start turning tubes for fine tuning.

The 4x4 is closer to 4”. The spindle is a little different.

My plan is to do it right the 2nd time... go straight from Fox 2.0 shocks and a deaver pack to a ‘daily driver’ 4 link kit with coils bypasses and hydro bumps.
My bank account will cry in a about 1 years time.
