    When you're buying the shocks, get the longest ones you can afford/think you'll need and build the mounts so the bottom of the shock body is even with the bottom of the frame or slightly higher. That'll keep the shock from bottoming out regardless of your setup and will only have to buy stuff once.

    yes you can use the same mounting points sprung over or under. just do what mjp2 said. he has the right idea.

    and as far as building a jig goes, pm me and i can discuss numerous ways to build them with you guys.

    I think the saying is its best to build the cage around the suspension, not the other way around, because you wont know the best mounting point for the shocks until you cycle it with one leaf and do the marker arc test on cardboard to find the optimal point.

    Right? or am I just talking out of my ass lol

    Straying away from the exploder gayness and back to what precoma was talking about; I was planning on building a bed cage at the same time I cage the truck, and completeing the SUA at a later date.

    Anyone done it this way before? How close did you get to to the optimal shock angle?

    Can someone link to the arc test method?
