Damn you @SilverGhost there is a E150 housing 44 miles from me for less than 300 bucks.

Looks like I'll be making a junk yard stop in the near future.

Ha! I have 4 trucks sitting in a junk yard next to my work when I checked yesterday. It says 60.00 for rear end housing. It’s a huge debate in my head to go 9” or use what’s sitting in the garage.

I have a t100 housing as well. But it needs a full overhaul. Might as well do a 9'' instead. Though Id save some money probably in the long run as I wouldn't have to setup a new diff.

Oh I hear that in my head all the time. Do the 9” and make it worth it. But I have a complete rear so why go though the headache. Plus I’ll have a spare 8.4 so if it does blow up I’ll be able to swap out the diff. SOB now you have me thinking about it again. :cookiemonster:

even for 250 bucks for the 9''. I'd still have to truss it. Probably new bearings. I don't know enough about the diffs to know if the E150 has the "good" 9'' or not. Then Id have to regear it and lock it. Still a build no matter what.

Hey anyone know which fuel line is which on a second gen? They're color coded....is the green pressure and the red return? Yes I know I could trace the lines but I'm curious

I busted out the tape measure today on my 2nd gen and the 1st gen Tundra axle and I got 66" wms to wms within an quarter of an inch on either one unless I got one of them kibbetech tape measures. Want to confirm that on your dad's truck and the t100 axle? The internet seems to be at odds from my measurements today.

So does mine  Maybe it's not a Tundra axle afterall - Sequoia maybe?

sequoia is IRS, the non abs tundra ( i have one) is ~66" wms to wms
abs vs non abs shouldnt matter, the only difference is the "hub blocks" where the axle bolts on

What I thought, but didn't want to say otherwise till it was corroborated.

Maybe the sequoia changed through the years, but this one is solid axle

Sorry my bad. Meant to say I have the one with hub blocks which puts me at 68

Edit: saw yours has abs and no hub block. Thought hub block meant abs

its odd that they would widen the rear end just by adding ABS. the area i'm referring to should be wider toward the interior of the housing. the exterior dimension shouldn't change.
could be wrong, but im basing this off the tacoma abs vs non abs housing

I know there are 2 different 1st gen tundra rear. Mine is an 04 and 68"
Thought the abs made it wider.
Cool, I'm even more confused about tundras now. I better not piece together a 9" myself.

Couldn't remember if the truck was a double cab or extended when I grabbed my axle.
