Also, most prerunner bumpers have the top sticking out way farther than the bottom. So if they come up to an embankment more than crossmember tall, the bumper is going to to hit and slide the truck over it. Whereas with mine, the tires hit first, exactly as intended

I'll bet that bumper drags the "W" on rutted roads real bad. Damn that sits low.

If you need a bumper to not endo you're doing something very, very wrong.

I use the skid plate for whacking bushes when trying to find my way back to a road.

Shouldn’t the protractor be moved back to the center of the wheel? I think if it was then the area @FlapJack935 circled would limit your approach angle like people are saying.

I have always read that the measure is angled between where the tire leaves the ground and the lowest point. That measurement applies well to mine because no part of the bumper sticks out past that line. Most “prerunner” bumpers protrude past the approach angle axis, making the angle to the top of the bumper worse than the angle to the bottom. The reasoning behind that is beyond me, that’s why I didn’t get mine like that

I do it because my bumper is close enough to the body that I can lol. I’d rather use both front tires instead of one. With a fat lip “prerunner” bumper you have to hit embankments at an angle and put all the trucks momentum on one wheel instead of 2

I think he means the top of wheel ruts that drag the skid plate

Good thing I don’t rock crawl... and what is the “shit hanging down” lol? You mean the skid plate that wouldn’t hit the embankment because my tires would hit it first?
