I’ve hear good things about the URD systems if you can run them. They eliminate some of the cats, so depending on emissions restrictions, you may not want to run this. I’ll be installing their y-pipe next week onto my trd catback

I have the URD system and have always been pretty happy with it. The Y pipe on mine rubs the transmission cross member which is a little annoying. Gadget told me that it usually has to do with the manifold/header connection being slightly off. Do to the angle and length of the y pipes if it is off by 1/16" at the manifold it can be off by 1/2 - 1" at the y pipe. I still haven't gotten around to messing with it though.

    Sound and power are great.

I always thought tacomas sound like ricers when they have crazy exhausts on them, is that just me?

Nothing is the same after you hear raw LS motors at the Mint or similar.

Only reason I’m doing the y-pipe is for clearance and because my cats are shot and it’ll get rid of them. Otherwise I like having the trd catback to keep it quiet. Though it could be fun to have a cutout to dump before the muffler for when you’re in the dunes or desert.

Personally I think the Borla cat back or the TRD cat back sound the best.
I have the Borla. It’s almost stock at idle, but actually opens up pretty well at WOT. It’s a decently deep town without being raspy or ricey.

As far as spare tire mounting goes, where do you guys find the best placement for them? I would think that you would want more weight towards the rear end of the bed but thats just my thought.

Any opinions / recommendations on rear wheel spacers in conjunction with TC +2 front? Pretty sure my wheels are stock offset as the rears are tucked well into the fender well and with the bushwackers it looks a little weird, also will be doing bamf relocation when I get the time.

Im leaning towards 1.25'' or 1.5'' but would appreciate input/ thoughts / suggestions.

Leaning towards the 1.25 as I tow every now and then and have quite a bit of weight back there, so Id imagine its healthier for the bearings to keep things narrow.

I had a TRD catback originally but after 250k is finally broke apart. Have a Jones Turbine resonator on there now, sounds almost the same. Deep and not ricey, even higher up
