    Having spent time around both a lot. For some reason the 4.0 1gr V6 can sound a hell of a lot more ricey than the 3.4L 5vz...no idea why.

    I have a lot of parking garages where I live. If I did a mild long travel mod, (e.g. 2" longer arms and a 3" lift) how much higher would the overall truck be?

    If you did a 3” lift, the truck would be 3” taller. If you put bigger tires, it would be however taller the tires are as well. You can do long travel and stay the same height, it just means you have more suspension travel available.

    yes, intake only takes like 30 mins to install not a big deal for smog just keep your stock parts

    I’ve got a k&n and I’m swapping my stock air box this weekend to smog the truck. Like @dillonk1602 said. Just keep the stock box and get whatever CAI you want

    How do you like the dry? I’ve heard it’s mainly a preference type of deal. Pepsi or coke kinda thing. Any benefits to one over the other that you know of?

    The dry is nice cuz your not getting oil all over the MAF sensor, oil can make you MAF not read right if that make scene
    i just use soap and water to clean it and use leaf blower to dry it hahaha

    Some guys remove the secondary filter, those alows oil to get to MAF sensor.
    I still have my secondary filter and have never had an issue with oil getting to the MAF.
    Ben running a K&N for 50k miles in the taco, have run them in all my cars and trucks, never had a MAF problem.
    If you follow the instructions and dry completely and not over oil them they work fine.
    I do like that the dry ones dont need cleaners and oil. That's a plus forsure. My next one will be a dry AFE for sure.
    But K&N just keeps going and going. Funny I know lots of guys that run them and never had issuses.

    Hmmmm. Interesting. I’ve been considering purchasing a new one being at that it’s time. (Bought mine used and have abused it) might go afe dry pro for the hell of it. Thanks

    Lol the Toyota intake is already a CAI. most aftermarket "Cai" aren't at all as they don't have exterior plumbing just a filter in the engine bay.

    Only real CAI that's aftermarket I've see is the urd Tru CAI as the filter is completely outside the bay. My dad runs one with his blower.

    That or a snorkel I guess.

    Anybody have experience at pismo after hard rains or similar conditions?
    Dune sand that has been soaked through.

    I’m itching to get back out there but unsure of how trucks handle differently / easier? / harder?

    Sand gets harder and it’s a lot easier to drive out there and not get stuck.

    My AFE plumbs to the exterior the same way the stock intake does, just has a big filter and more direct route to the blower compared to the stock setup.
