@excorcist you could just drill out the taper on the steering knuckle and use a 5/8 bolt with regular misalignment spacers from kartek.

Okay that's fair. That's awesome you live in a good spot. Well.hopefully you get your part soon and are able to put it back together quickly. What a sucky situation.

Shouldn’t be hitting. What are your alignment specs?

I knew this would come up - it was more about the low level of communication / customer service which I completely agree with. Little things like what went down show a lot about a company imo.

I’d have them bump up the castor to closer to 4.5 and see if that clears it.

Yeah you were barely hitting if you couldn’t feel it when driving. More castor will also benefit you off road and help the truck track straighter.

I agree regardless of the part and cost to me being left in the dark on price is a back issue in terms of philosophy for me especially in being a possible returning customer. As others said that price is normal, but for a guy that wasn’t in the know I would have expected a little better communication than that.

This industry does have a problem with doing exactly whatever they want many times though.

Agree with all that expect price is not normal, that would mean the full kit (4 misalignments and 2 bolts) would be like $250. The $35 originally quoted does make sense.

One thing I’ve noticed over the years with off road stuff is that some companies make an effort to make their parts as simple to source as possible so if someone is in bfe and breaks something they will be more likely to find a replacement quickly and for less. It seems that modifying stock components doesn’t make that as easy as beginning with a whole new setup from scratch, but like @Arcticelf mentioned getting rid of the custom spacer would make sourcing replacement parts way easier and though it is more intensive in the meantime - it would save issues in the future from popping up.

If I spent $3500 on a kit and got quoted the wrong price for a part I wouldn’t expect to be dealt with in a dismissive way.

Just playing, the communication sucks. I always give companies the benefit of the doubt tbh. Shitty situation but mistakes happen. If I see recurring themes or something majorly screwed up and constant cover up then I don't buy from that company. TC has been great to me in the past, sent me parts really quick when I was living in texas and truck was on jack stands.

As far as misalignments go, they're so damn soft, its really easy to torque down a bolt too early and catch the lip of the misalignment. I think Chris at bbm made me one for $20 when I was in a bind but Im not sure if he's still running his shop.

I hear you - and that's why I was pretty frustrated with hearing that they acted like that since I've had accurate communication also with them in the times I've needed replacement parts. Ultimately it comes down to the little things when companies say they want to be part of an offroad community, it seems that the polite "customer is always right until they are trying to take too much advantage of the situation" approach fosters the concept. Custom shops like BBM definitely make miracles happen when necessary. He just made a nice rear cage on a first gen.

Mine rubs barely on just one side with a TC +2 kit, i think my caster numbers are like 3.9 and 4.1 or something along those lines. the 3.9 side is the one that rubs. Other side seems fine but when i redo the alignment i will probably bump up to 4.5

We are very sorry for the miscommunication and the issues it has caused you.
100% the miscommunication was on our end. Your original call we made a mistake on getting the correct part # in our build sheet to quote you the correct price. It was told me that we made contact with you to make sure we were sending you the correct part which at that time we confirmed we had originally given you the wrong quote. The updated price SHOULD have been relayed to you at that point. The original part was $35.95 +shipping and the part you actually needed is $66.60 +shipping according to my sales manager.
We really do pride ourselves on customer service and it sucks when we fall short in that department.
Again we are deeply sorry for the miscommunication and the inconvenience we caused due to it. Please expect a Private Message from us in the next few days, we are going to try and make this up to you as best we can.
