Are the misalignments different sizes? On some of the kits out there the lower misalignments have a small and a large spacer so that you can push the lower mount away from the steering

Did TC give you any recommended caster range when they sent you the kit? Since they've used the kit on their race vehicles, I'm sure they found a number that works best...although that is dedicated off road use so the caster may be a few degrees higher for them

Its been a while since I’ve looked at a set of their instructions but I believe they say 4-8 degrees of caster. I set my caster at 6 degrees. That was the farthest I could go without starting to mess up the other alignment numbers. That was with non-adjustable uca’s.

I put 3rd gen 4Runner mirrors - mostly bolt on but much bigger than the older style taco mirrors.

I would make a plate that bolts through the stock mirror holes and to the new mirror on the other side.

So I have decided in the next month or so I will put up my 2nd Gen LT taco for sale. It has been a good 10 years, but I need to sell it so I can get the next project started. I am currently getting my rear bypasses rebuilt/ replated.

I am located in Salt Lake City, but I am willing to drive to St. George or Vegas if it gets this thing sold. I am hoping to get the word out, so I can find a decent buyer who understands what owning a long travel rig involves.

Specs are in my signature build thread.

    2011 TRD Offroad
~110,xxx miles, but more like 100,xxx due to gear and tire size change.
    Factory E-locker
    6-spd manual
    Chaos +3.5 Front
DMZ SUA kit in the rear
Low Profile Bedcage built by Solo Motorsports
    4:56 Gears Front and Rear

Comes with alot of extras (Bumpers, roof rack, Soft Top, RTT Rack)

Truck is a great adventure rig, or can be turned into a decent chase truck.

Good luck with the sale. Always sad to see a lt taco go, but hopefully it will find a new happy home. Just an FYI, your true mileage is actually higher than the odo reading from larger tires. You move farther per revolution and the odo calculates mileage per revolution

Yes, with bigger tires alone but not when you throw 4:56 gears into the mix. My odo shows more miles driven vs. actual. For a while, I thought my mpg increased until I checked it with the gps.

In order to go 65-70 on the freeway my Spedometer reads like 80mph. Faster speedo = more miles on the Odometer.

Technically, if I increase the tire size to 35's, this will correct it. But I have always run 33's. In think the correct ratio for 33's would be 4:10, but when I did a regear, they didn't offer 4:10 for front and rear. So I then went with 4:56.

I found a thread where you can get an inline calibrator (not hyper tech) off of Amazon for 80$. The hypertech calibrator doesnt work for the Manual trans.

    Here is the break down.

Adding bigger tires with stock gears does increase your mileage read on the Odometer. When you change gears however, things get interesting..

So, having 33's and 4:10's will actually make the Odometer reading nearly stock. With 35's and 37's, and 4:10's, you still will read higher on the odometer.

Jumping up to 4:56's, and 33's, my ODO is about 11% off (which is what I have).

If I jumped up to 35's and 4:56, it would be about 5% off etc..

If I had 37's and 4:56, that would put me around the stock ratio of 3.73 and 30" tires.

But also curious because the rear abs sensors are what give you your speed, wouldn’t gears not change any of that and it be based on tire size? That’s what I’ve found on my truck but it’s a 2wd automatic, don’t know if it’s different on a manual and I know you can put the speed sensor in the transfer case on a 4wd.

Just because I have 4.88 with 37s and 65mph for me is closer to 80 and for every .8 miles I go on the factory odo is when I’ve actually traveled 1 mile. Not saying you’re wrong but this is what happens for me in my truck

Also, depends on where the speed sensor is located. An automatic trans with sensors located at the wheels will only read differently due to tires. A manual trans with the sensor located at the transfer case will be off due to both the gears and tires.

Yeah it all depends on where the speed pickup is. For an auto trans speed and odo are off the abs sensors at the wheel so regearing the diff does nothing to effect the speedo or odo. Manual trans would be different since the pickup is off the transfer case I believe. Not sure what your setup is @concentric_killa but for a 4wd auto, gearing doesn’t have any effect on odo

Edit: checked and you’re a 2wd manual so your corrections might be right. My comment was for 4wd auto trucks.

I have a buddy looking for that exact truck but he keeps dragging his balls when I find him one. With a month lead time maybe i can get him interested.
