I have those ticket stubs, but got out before I ended up with a divorce lawyer bill.

You have to pay my bar tab to hear about the legal bills I did end up with.

I love cool high end gear, and I'm lucky enough to be able afford most of it... but part of me still enjoys building something on lower cost side that can hang with the good stuff, at least for a bit.

I did that years ago. I should have removed my evap canister so I could run full length center track.

I thought about doing the full length, but my spare lives in the bed shop it's kind of a waste. Plus mine doesn't fit between the ridges

Yes I’d definitely recommend doing the coil bucket gussets first.

I grabbed a pic at full lock for you. Still have about 2” of room.

I believe -12. I only have about a finger width at the closest part to the spindle to the tire.

I wonder how much of a difference the master cylinder makes. when i did my lt two years ago i threw in all new 5th gen 4runner front brakes and while its been better than factory i have always felt it a little lacking at times...

The reason I'm considering swapping to an 01-04 mc / booster would be because when putting 1st gen Tundra brakes on 1st gen Tacos guys with 96-00 trucks that had a different bore mc and dual diaphragm booster reported a soft pedal way more often than guys with 01-04 trucks. I don't know if it would make a difference in your case, but if it made a significant difference that wouldn't be a huge price to pay finding decent used parts I suppose. :notsure:

There’s been more threads about this, but basically the 4Runner calipers aren’t designed for the Tacoma MC. It just doesn’t push enough fluid. That said I do feel it gives better braking performance and should resist brake fade with the bigger rotors at a much cheaper price than the Tacoma big brake kits. But you do end up with a little softer pedal feel. The tundra/ sequoia MC is pretty cheap and will fix the issue but will not work on the newer 2nd gens equipped with ATRAC (off road models). Unfortunately I fit in that category. The solution for a firmer pedal for those trucks (and mine) is to use an actual 4Runner MC and electronic booster which is expensive unless you can find one at a junk yard. Or ditch the 4Runner calipers for Tacoma specific ones which are also more expensive.
